Still really early in the process but they are going to do everything they can to make a big hire

if you read Saturday Down South (please don't) it should be Sumlin.

They'd be smart to snatch up an up-and-comer like Fuente who could be there for years but I doubt they look for someone without P5 HC experience.

Possibly. I think the big difference now than their last two searches is that they've finally gotten past trying to recreate what Pete had in the 2000s by bringing his guys in

No idea. A few weeks ago I would have told you Chip Kelly, but now I have no idea.

Tom Herman would be a great hire and I think it would take a USC, UTx, or UGA job to get him.

Wish list: Mike Tomlin, Chuckie, JDR, Jeff Fisher.
Realistically?
Tom Herman (Houston Cougars) or Justin Fuente (Memphis State).

These guys
would be *much* better in the long run than these guys
I have no idea why people always clamor for NFL coaches for college jobs, when they're completely different. College coaches have to recruit (a skill you can't just perfect overnight), manage a roster against scholarship limitations, understand collegiate and recruiting regulations, and hob-nob with donors and alumni.
Chip Kelly has been extremely transparent about the fact that he doesn't miss college coaching at all because he hated recruiting and mixing with donors and alumni.

Why would that be anyones wish list? Herman would be a much better hire than any of them @ USC.

Well, I hope you're right. Because the "in the know" crowd is saying he's the most likely candidate.

I know he's been checked out a year, but it's gonna be tough to replace the HBC
