bama's most dangerous offensive play

it's the back shoulder, under thrown pass.
against Tennessee they ran it a lot, and it was a big part of their last td drive.
the receiver is running fast, and the DB is not looking back, just trying to run with the receiver. receiver is able to make the adjustment on the pass. it often looks like an underthrown ball, and it probably is a lot of the time by design.
I seem to recall McCarron was good at that throw.
I remember BYU won their NC with that throw. they kept hitting the underthrown pass all night against, if I remember right - Penn State.
hope the secondary coaches are teaching technique on this play - it really feels stupid to get beat on this.

The Dbacks need to pick one or two off like the Vols did

Also the short pass to the tight end OJ Howard. It's usually money.

Smash.
Have to see # yards rec hits brakes and undercut timing throw, but vulnerable without help over top.
With safety help on this, QB will prolly hit another option route of smash.
Somewhat complicated.

For the potential to score a touchdown... punt return

6-5 Michigan (but also from memory). Worst national champion in history. As I remember Michigan was 6-6 after the defeat.

They have several dangerous plays.
I think their most dangerous is the counter run left, where they feign a run to the right but the RG and RT cross to the left to open a hole for Henry.

If there run game is working the play action to Ridley will be there play and we have to be ready for and our Dt must fill the gaps to slow down Henry

Swing pass to the RB( HENRY )to take all the way. Just like we lost year before last!

The seam or otherwise deep strike with 1-on-1 coverage when they are backed up is what I think is their most dangerous play.
Especially when we play them, the field position game is always important. So you get them backed up, probably have some momentum. If they hit it, not only do they flip the field if the subsequent drive stalls, they likely get on a roll and at least get some points out of it, it hurts badly psychologically, and forces you to re-adjust quickly on-the-fly.
The psychological impact is why I think Saban does it so often, and he does it all the time picking the "turning point" spots. Did it twice to the Barners in one game. Plus it's playing the numbers. He'll do it on first down when you are convinced he's going to run, especially if the running game is working well for him. And the % of drives that result in points that start from your own 5 or 10 is low. Even lower in SEC play, and then even lower in big matchups. So why not, you beat the numbers AND possible break the opponents will.
Other than that..... fricking screen play that's been held back for 5 series and setup nicely.

I figured it would be Ritter calling a defensive hold against us.

Yep...BYU played in the WAC and was obligated to go to the Holiday Bowl and Michigan was taken because a lot of other schools passed on the invites because the bowl was played in mid-December and they still had exams...
My my my how times have changed in 31 years...
The only ranked team they played that year was Pitt the first game of the season when they were ranked #3 and they ended up finishing 3-7-1 that year...

Play action double move is bound to bite us in the arse once or twice.

When properly executed, the back shoulder throw is almost impossible to stop. The best way to defend it is to disrupt the timing. Our corners are gonna have to be sure tacklers

When Henry is let loose in the men's locker room.

Cover 2 stops that throw. But I don't think we run a cover 2 much
