Those are the offensive redzone rankings? If not, you misread my original post.

Those are defensive. LSU is better than them in score percentage, they are slightly above average (on offense).

The poor TD:FG ratio is partly because LSU's offense is so good that the redzone is 4 down territory for opponents.

Off the top of my head I can think of at least 3 TDs that came after fourth down conversions in the redzone that might have otherwise been FGs. And 3+ out of 17 is a large enough % to skew things.

This team has been a work in progress from game one. Our top 3 OGs are freshmen but they are coming...I see progress. The receivers are more consistent in the Fla. game. The true freshman TE from Jesuit is maturing each game. With Mills now having a full game back at safety I expect to see less busted coverages...and they have 2 weeks to get their act together. BH seems to have arrived. Ever the 2 back-up DTs are showing more toughness and technique. Don't worry;be happy!

That's a good point. Florida went for it on fourth down and scored a touchdown. I would point out, however, that they did that on the opening drive of the game. So your reasoning doesn't quite follow. They just knew that they had to have every point to beat LSU out of the gate.

I was commenting on their offensive efficiency in the redzone. If a defense can corral Derrick Henry on that end of the field, the chances are really high that they can hold Alabama to FG attempts. They struggle throwing on that end of field when the field shrinks down.

I think he has mentioned it no fewer than two times in the last two weeks during his media availability. Now that we've settled that, can we talk about it? 'preciate ya, breh.

If our secondary is this weak with all this talent, I'm kind of worried about Steele with that group moving forward.

Maybe he needs to simplify things a little going forward. He's new, I'm sure those guys are still getting used to the things he wants to do on defense.

The blown coverages have been beyond frustrating. It reminds me of the 2013 secondary breakdowns.

Are special teams causing a lot of short fields to blame?

ST's and missed assignments are two reasons but the
one a haven't heard on here yet is the amount of fourth down's team's are attempting.

Generally its been because we are ahead and the team doesn't think they can stop LF.

Really? We're already over half the amount of attempts we had all of last year. We've already given up almost as many red zone touchdowns as we did all of last year. In terms of a sample, it is a pretty good one.

What do you think the cause is?

Is our run defense against power formations just not up to snuff? Are our cornerbacks not able to handle big WRs in short areas? What's going on in your opinion?

Since most of the touchdowns have been through the air, I think it is we are conceding easy throws in the flats and middle of the field to stay strong against the run. I also think some of our linebackers aren't great in zone (Jones is pretty good, though) and we've seen a good bit of that in the red area.

Bama's going to do what UF did. TE or RB in the flat and down the sideline until Jefferson stops it.

This. He needs to turn the back inside. Stop running himself into traffic and out of the outside run. Pass coverage is a whole nuther story.
