So sorry to hear this.

I lost my dad for similar reasons a couple of years back, and he was also about that age. He had dementia, but it was just immediate/new information he was losing - he still knew all of us, so we had that to be thankful for.
Do what you can, while you can. Prayers sent.

I have to tell my boss I'm taking off tomorrow to help get things in order for my dad and I just know he's going to be a total dick!
Can't deal with that dude right now!

I lost my dad way too young, 61, so take whatever time you have left with him & make it quality time.

Be with him. It will help him and you deal with this when the time comes. Prayers for strength. Such hard hard stuff.

Sorry to hear, lost mine 15 years ago and still hurts, you just learn to live with it...
Best advice someone gave me was...after my dads passing you really just can't get those last few days out of your mind..You need to force yourself to look through all the fun times and what a great influence he was to you...that will make you smile every time you think of him....
Hang in there...

Lost mine a couple of years ago at age 73. My only advice is spend as much time with him right now as you can, every minute you're not at work - stay with him in his hospital room even if it's only to sleep there, etc. Just be there as much as you can. You'll be thankful for it later. Very sorry you have to go thru this.

Your dad is about to die, so don't those work things seem really trivial right now? If your boss isn't understanding then he is a total d-bag and doesn't deserve your being employed there.

Prayers for him and you and Family.
When we knew Dad's time was near,he and I had a good long talk, just us two. Told him all the things I wanted him to know.

My mom just passed away and it's so hard . Let your Dad know how much you love him and anything else you need to say to him. Do it now , don't wait. I thought my mom would be coherent for longer than she was and I didn't get to tell her I loved her one last time and it's breaking my heart. I am happy I was her caregiver and I was with her everyday . She went down so quickly , way before I thought she would . Prayers for you and your Dad !

Jobs come and go. Dads, not so much.
If ur boss has lost a parent, he will understand. If he hasn't and has a problem with u taking a little time off, chances are you won't last much longer working with this guy anyway. Life happens.
Again, very sorry you have to go thru this, and prayers for you, your dad, and your family.

Do you realize how many sons wish they had an opportunity to "prepare for the worst"? At least you have an opportunity to let him know how you feel, thank him for what he has done for you, apologize for any missteps over the years...
