No shite you're not, because it's ridiculous. You're a driving enthusiast, and trust me, I appreciate that. But what you're saying is completely bat shite

If you must have stick I would go Honda Accord Sport. It's extremely affordable & reliable
We have a 2013 Accord. It's a good car, but my brother's 2011 Buick is so much better. It costs more, but it's a far better car.
Honda's still have terrible paint/finish quality and loud interiors.

Chevy SS is a good recommendation...
Audi A4
Volkswagen GTI or Passat
Buick Regal GS or Verano Turbo - People sleep on Buick like it's all old people...Verano is fun to drive.
Acura TSX or ILX

Buick Regal GS
Great car. Buick makes amazing vehicles now.
The LaCrosse is great too, but it's a bigger, heavier sedan. My parents have one. It feels like a bank vault on wheels.....and that smooth engine can effortlessly rocket that big car around.
Buick is definitely a cut above the Japanese cars my wife and I drive.

I thought they finally got that crap straightened out?

If you can get past the 2 door issue:
1.Mini Cooper S is a fun car.
2.GTI is also great driving experience.
3. Subaru BRZ or Scion FRS
If you must have 4 doors:
1. Subaru or older Acura TL.
2. Go German (Audi or BMW is the same driving experience to me)
I get tired of driving ANY car with an automatic transmission.

In fact GM sells a tune that doesn't void the warranty.
whats this?
I dont even know what "a tune" means, like a chip?
I'm used to older vehicles, throwing on headers or a new intake or carb

We've got a late model Honda. Paint job is one of the few things on it that I hate.

No it's not. Buick is nice enough I guess but Lexus, infinity are worlds apart. Then there's resale.....

so between the Buick Regal GS and the Infinity G37s, inifnity is the way to go?
Buick is way cheaper

Yes, it's like a chip. Chips aren't generally used much anymore. Now they just reprogram the ecu in your car. The GM kit comes with a new intake and a GM approved tune.

If he is buying used then the lower resale of the Buick is on his side. The first owner took the major depreciation hit which will result in a lower purchase price for OP.

Buick is a great car. The Regal is their sporty model and it has fantastic reviews and high marks for reliability and safety.
Consumer Reports review of Buick Regal:

A direct competitor to the Regal GS in both the US and Europe would be the Volvo S60 T6. That's a very good car as well, but not as sporty.

I know you said you dont want a 3 series but for $35k I'm sure you can find a 08-11 E90 M3 4dr and that is a great car, its not just your avg 3 series. I drive a M3 coupe on the weekends and the 4dr is just as fun. I think it deserves a look into.
The Chevy SS is brand new, you're not going to find one in your range I wouldn't think. Great car too, a friend just bought one but he also paid $46k.
G37s are boring
Audi S4s come in a manual and are kinda fun.
Lexus IS250s come with a manual option
Havent looked into Buick but I know the newer Regal was supposed to be pretty nice.
I wouldnt drive a VW (personal choice)
Benz doesn't offer a manual anymore and havent for a bit.
You always have Civics, Accords, and cars in the class to choose from.
Also, the last generation Camry did come with a manual option for the 4cyl engine lol.

I'm sure this is on OP's radar.

I wish Buick would put the twin turbo V-6 in the Regal like they have in the Insignia (same care as the Real) in Europe. The Opel Insignia Vxr has AWD, a manual, and that twin turbo V-6. It also comes in a wagon. Sign me up!
