My family decided to see our Tigers play this weekend so we drove the 10 hours to Baton Rouge from Orlando. Once we got there we paid $25 dollars to park at the Chevron on Highland an Roosevelt after being assured that our vehicle was safe. Well obviously it wasn't and we had several pieces of luggage stolen including Laptops and a phone (MacBooks and and an iPhone) out of our Expedition with Florida plates. The Chevron was hesitant to even give us our $25 back, even as LSU grads and lifelong fans I don't think my parents will ever return for a home game in BR after this which sucks because I know how much they used to love coming to them.

The Chevron employees claimed to not know who the manager or owner was when I spoke to them so that was a dead end and I don't know if corporate will be of much assistance.

TL;DR do not park at the Chevron on Highland and Roosevelt because they don't give a frick whether or not your car gets broken into.

That was horribly dumb. Should have taken 20 or so minutes to check in to your hotel and drop off your luggage.

People at the Chevron who took your money and parked you were probably in on it and made you as marks from the jump and called whoever did it. That's why they weren't helpful.

Sucks man, I seriously hate to hear that.

Then keep your arse in Florida.

But seriously, why park in a sketchy place and leave valuables in the car? That's vacationing 101.

They dindu nuffin to your car. They thought it was theirs, just tryin' to get their stuff out because the key didn't work. Poor BR folk, still recovering from Katrina.

Pretty much all of those pay to park spaces on the north side of campus are sketchy as hell. I've seen people selling spots that they have no right to sell at all. Live and learn and don't pay to park in shitty neighborhoods.

Street with a president's name???

Always a sign of a sketchy area in BR

Seriously though......why would you leave valuables in your parked vehicle like that? That's like basic common sense.

well then it's a good thing you had the find my iphone and find my mac apps installed on both right? RIGHT?!

eta: why didn't you just put them in your hotel? these items were obviously not hidden from plain site. you can only blame the gas station to a certain extent but you need to own up to being dumb too.

Well why the frick did you think that was a safe place to park? Much less walk back to after a night game!?

I mean, I'm sorry this happened and that really does suck, but come on??!!!

Why didn't you leave your luggage at the Hotel room? You never leave valuables in an unattended car. Especially in a bad neighborhood. Pocket change on the seat is enough for some crackhead to break out a window.

Why don't you take responsibility for your mistake. You don't leave valuables in a car no matter where you are. Chevron has no liability in this issue.

It's a shame we live in a world where you make a mistake its someone else's problem.
