Smart TV question

I'm considering buying a Samsung smart TV tomorrow.
I'm just wondering how smart tv works and, for those that have it, how do you like it?
I have roku now so can I just get rid of it (put it in another room)?
Do you select the apps you want? Are any already loaded into the tv?
Thanks

Stick with your Roku. Smart TVs aren't as smart as your Roku.

I have a Samsung smart tv. I'm not sure what all the features that a Roku has because I've never had one, but I don't think I would need one either. It comes preloaded with a whole bunch of apps. Netflix, amazon instant, HBOGO, Hulu, etc. Really a lot of stuff. I can pretty easily connect my phone to it. It has a web browser that I never use because using a remote for surfing the web sucks.
I don't know, man. Just look up the features. They are pretty plentiful.

Do smart tvs have the Watch ESPN app?

Genetaly speaking, smart tv's are sluggish compared to a new roku or fire tv.

Stick with your Roku and save the money. Just get a non-smart TV.

A Roku will give you about a thousand channels and you decide--not Samsung--which ones will appear on your line-up.

I own a Samsung. I never use any of the "smart tv" features.....ever.

I have it. It's really not special.

I have a Samsung Smart TV. Love mine and have never had any problems with it. Also have a roku player connected to it also because the smart tv does not have the WatchESPN app. Roku does so I have stuck with that

I waste enough time with the crap I already have. I probably don't need an additional 1000 channels.

I bought a TCL Roku tv about six months ago. I love it. It is a TV with Roku already programmed into it.

I use my smart Samsung almost exclusively. I do have a Roku for watch espn but that is all its used for. Samsung does not have as many "apps" as Roku, but they have hulu, netflix, amazon, and hbo. And that is all I need.

I have a smart tv but find the roku much easier to navigate than the apps on the smart tv so we just exclusively use the roku.

For us it's on less remote and the Samsung interface isn't horrible.

You don't even need a remote with the roku......you can use your phone as the remote

Same with my TV. I just don't find the ROKU any better to require me to use it. Other than ESPN.
