When Nike officially stops sponsoring soccer, does the OP stop watching?

Yes.

Oh man am I ready for this Manchester Derby.

Wanna wager something SCH?

No Aguero or Silva, this should be free points for United, right?

Bystander: So, what did you think about the latest IOS update?

Me: Fred Smoot referred to this act as "runnin through the okra patch".

The OP is not the worst poster on the board but he is close.

But he sure is the dumbest. I have a hard time believing he is a functioning adult. Let alone one who was able to get into Baylor and graduate.

Memphis is going to struggle. I knew that before we bought him. That doesn't mean that his fashion sense and early struggles say anything about what he'll be. Ronaldo had one goal in his first season (03/04) at United until the start of the new year (2004). Now, this kid isn't necessarily Ronaldo, but I think that his style of play is tough to translate without real experience. He can score in Europe, but he can't translate it to league play. Eventually, though, that'll change.

Sterling is the player he's going to be. Memphis has yet to find his stride at such a big club.

In my opinion. DePaul is the better all around player.

OP, i agree with your message, but hate the way you convey it. memphis is a fantastic young talent and you're making him out the be some JV slap dick. he's not.

He's very much a player that will immediately be a threat when he figures out how to get it together. He went from a league where he was at a higher level to one where people are used to neutralizing "The Next Big Thing". If he can get it together and not let his ego take over too early, he'll be a special player. He has all of the skills and vision to be great to watch. There's a reason why he was so sought after for so long.

Oh Memphis is good, don't get me wrong. Sterling's experience in the EPL is certainly a helper, but Memphis isn't adjusting as quick as everyone though he would.

So you're scared to wager?

I have a hard time believing Im adult with a masters as well.

I mean I'll wager Literally anything. I'm assuming you can't do money on the boards, but I'll certainly throw out rocking a United sig and avatar for a month if City loses. And of course you would have to do the opposite.

You're betting on City winning AT United WITHOUT Silva, Aguero, and possibly Nasri?

Not to mention a hobbled back 4?

He isn't the brightest, but regardless I'm not going to make a bet with him.

Just something I don't do when it comes to my teams.

If you insist. Try not to let that confidence ooze out any faster.

Ronaldo was a straight-up winger and seen as a maddeningly talented teenager from before day 1

Not saying that you don't have a point, just that 2003 Ronaldo is probably not the person to make that point for you

Dumb bet on your end.

I'm a city fan and I don't expect to walk away with 3 in that game. I'll be happy with a draw.

If Nasri is out then we are seriously hampered in the attack. Bony up top with Sterling, KDB, and Navas? That gives us Roberts, Nacho, and Barker as subs. All 3 have EXTREMELY limited, if any, experience in the PL. No way in hell I take any "City gets points" bet...and I personally think I'm a bit optimistic as far as City fans go.

Yeah, I rate Memphis pretty highly but he's no Ronaldo.

To address the original post of the thread, yeah, Sterling is better than Memphis right now. Sky blue glasses off, he's better. Memphis has a high ceiling and I think he'll eventually be damn good for United. He won't be Ronaldo, but he'll be above average at worst.

I also don't think Sterling is "the player he'll be" yet. He's already shown growth this season and I think he'll steadily improve over the next season or two. He's training with Silva, KDB, and Nasri. He'll learn a good bit from those three.
