Anyone buying WMT?

Down around 10% today and currently sits at 61. I bought 110 shares in the low 70's thinking it had been beat up enough. Wrong.
Apparently at shareholder meeting today lowered guidance for the rest of this year and next year causing the tank. Also announced $20B share buyback.
Anyone with any thoughts?

I wish I had some cash to throw into it right now. I think WalMart obviously has some staying power that these other companies don't have (Whole Foods for example). As soon as another slight recession hits I really think people will be jumping the organic/fresh foods ship to go back to WalMart.

I yearn for the day I can lose 9 billion dollars.

I'm thinking about it but too early for me to buy. One thing that holds me back is that I don't like to shop there.

I don't like Microsoft products or Bill Gates. But I've made more than a few sheckels from trading MSFT over the years. Emotion should have no affect on an investment or trading decision.
I haven't looked at WMT lately. But I may add it to a watchlist now.

What's the new P/E? Dividend?

I did the same thing (bought in low 70s). And this, after having a few shares at $60 for many years and closing that position out, only to see then see it rise to hit 90.
I am buying here, given 3.3% div yield and prospects for cycling back up.

No.....unless they actually sold stock, they didn't "lose" anything....yet.

Morningstar just upgraded them to 5*
"We expect to lower our $79 fair value estimate for Wal-Mart by approximately 5%, but we believe the nearly 10% sell-off in Wal-Mart’s shares following the company’s fiscal 2017 guidance (earnings expected to be down 6%-12%) represents an overreaction and a buying opportunity in this wide-moat firm. With shares trading around 13-14 times fiscal 2017 earnings, we think that Wal-Mart shares warrant a closer look."

I just bought some at $60.00 for long term. I could see it going lower but I still feel like at $60, it's a value.
ETA: Looks like I should have held out longer

They are building Neighborhood Walmarts everywhere right now to compete with small town grocers. Im buying for the long term.

One of the reasons I bought at $72. We have 3 coming in my town alone.

I listened to the motley fool interview yesterday and basically the WMT guy said.. Yep, raising our minimum wage didn't seem like too good of an idea now.. Haha

I didn't say it was my only criteria. I've owned WMT before.
I disagree that it is emotion that is at play. For investing, particularly retail, personal shopping experiences is a legitimate data point but not the only one.
