I remember my dad saying that my uncle and some of his friends somehow got one of those boots off his car. Not sure how he did it.

nope I live in BR...but I am sure people from NOLA call that country.

I think you have no idea how bad ticketing has got in this city.

No I don't. But when I visit I don't park illegally b/c I don't want a ticket or to be towed. You and I both know some people dgaf and risk it...then bitch when they are ticketed.

They have cameras set up to mail you $200 tickets for doing five over the limit, or give you red light tickets if you don't stop for three full seconds before turning on red.

these are not regulated by the city though right? basically nothing happens if you don't pay these tickets from what I understand...I thought a parking ticket was regulated by the city and the fines will show at the DMV.

I don't lie unless I have something to gain and clearly there's nothing to gain here. Just relaying some friendly advice.

really. Get a $25 ticket and instead of paying it. Take time off from work, deal with the dmv, get a new plate, pay for the new plate.

makes sense.

They put a cop's name on it and will boot your car if you don't pay it. That's BS imo, and I'll gladly take the time to get a new plate before I ever pay one of those bullshite tickets or get booted for it.

NOLA does a parking ticket amnesty program like every other year. If you get 5 tickets and the fees are approaching $1000, wait till the amnesty and pay $100 and be done with it.

I can't believe people would go to the hassle of changing plates to avoid a couple $20 tickets. Frick, it's a cost of doing business or choosing to live in NOLA.

I don't like it and sure I've been "wrongly ticketed", but some things in life you just have to absorb and move on from.

I got a parking ticket for parking the wrong way on a street...I think it was less than $25. Thought it was stupid but paid it

Like I said originally, if that is true, then New Orleans is one of the most backwards assed places I've ever heard of. If this is all that is needed to get out of paying tickets, then that is amazing and I'm surprised more people aren't doing it.

This isn't like getting out of an actual ticket from NOPD or a Trooper.
