Yup you're right. I actually didn't watch that game other than live twitter updates because work. But yes, Fab did play in that match. Sorry for my forgetfulness.
I find it hilarious how if someone gets one thing wrong on this board you're an idiot
Sorry bro didn't mean it that way.

He said it was an unrelated injury, which it is if I'm not mistaken.
Does it matter? He's already missed a month of the season. The USMNT is important, but so is his club. You don't want him to miss another month just because you wanted to change keepers in the 119th.

Unrelated to what?
Unrelated to Jurgen's flaccid a-hole.

Look, if he's injured, he's injured. Jurgen was a dick for claiming it was a fake injury. That said, he didn't even attempt to talk to Jurgen about it at all. He walked straight past him, and when Jurgen attempted to pull him in for whatever reason, he shook his head while he pushed him off and kept walking. Jurgen follows him, and the next time we see him, his hands are in the air and looks pissed while Fab walks away. I know it's a cardinal sin to say that Jurgen may have had some sort of justification for the outcome of this situation, but Fabian's been one of the guys he's really put his chips on. I highly doubt all it was was him wanting to come out, but I'm probably wrong.
I've watched everything leading up to the sub a hundred times now, and it seems like he's just exhausted. He has a little bit of a weird step here and there, but nothing that looks more than tired legs. I will say, though, that I was too harsh on him because he was right in there after the goal celebrating. I still think, though, that he was just exhausted. He may have picked up a knock, but it surely didn't stop him from running down the wing on the goal. Right after we scored, he sat back and moved very little until he was subbed. If he came out because he was tired so be it, but this whole injury situation has changed from his calf being tight and he was worried about reinjury to him being tired to where we are now, which is him coming out due to a thigh injury.
Now, the whole Rimando thing is pretty iffy, but I could see the logic behind it with some real stretching as he's a pretty solid keeper against penalties. Guzan's pretty much just as good, though, so who knows. It's fricking Jurgen so who knows what the idea was.
Honestly, I'm just ready for him to go if he's going because I'm tired of the constant negativity and bickering. LSU football's been more fun and stressfree to watch than the USMNT lately, and that is not a world I want to live in.

That's a shite ton of conjecture to come to Jurgen's defense.

Jesus Christ. Didn't I say that I'm fine with him taking a hike? Personally, I just don't think that one of Jurgen's golden little German boys got the axe because he asked to come out. I think it's downright naive and ridiculously biased to truly believe that. Sure, I had a bit to drink and got pissed off about him wanting to come off, which clearly wasn't as much of him calling it in as I thought. I won't deny that I was wrong about it being a lack of fight. I'm dumb as frick a lot of times. It happens.
My point, though, is that the truth is likely somewhere in the middle (or leaning more favorably towards Fab), but the hate for Jurgen is so strong that some of you would believe that Fabian had a written apology and two physicians to confirm his injury that was all ignored by Jurgen because he wouldn't be able to sub Rimando in. We have no idea what happened on the bench or the sideline or in the locker room. This whole narrative that Jurgen said "frick your injury" and sent him home is just ridiculous. We have physicians in the US that would have confirmed his injury before Jurgen ever went public.
The more likely story is that he was done physically, Jurgen wanted him to stay on, he played until he had no more left, and he eventually just said frick it and demanded a sub. They probably had a few words, shite got real, and he was sent home. Is it Jurgen's fault that he was exhausted? Yeah. I find it hard to believe, though, that it's all him being upset over the sub regardless of the dumb shite he's done.

Honestly, all of this talk about saving the last sub for Rimando has me slightly confused. Maybe I'm just imagining this (I did have a few drinks Saturday), but I could have sworn I heard the announcers saying that Wondo was getting instructions and about to go in. I remember because I specifically remember hearing it and then saying "frickin Jurgy!!!" Then I got up and poured another bourbon. When I got back, Evans was coming on. Confusion then reigned supreme.

You mean the part where it has become public that Fab is being treated for a thigh injury?
Now, if you want to me to fight conjecture with conjecture, I would say that, just in the last two months, Jurgen has a history of throwing players under the bus (Bedoya).

He's splintering the frick out of the fan base.
That in itself is a huge problem.

That doesn't bother me.
I just want the USMNT to win and improve a program and we're not doing that with Jurgen.

The reality is that the reason we got run off the field by Mexico is simply that they have better players. I don't care if Jurgen stays or goes. The only thing I'm down on is our player pool.
It's garbage.
What could you possibly expect? They are more talented at every level, with the lone exception being GK.
Mexico has a really good squad right now. They're a giant, football mad country, and they're going to be good on occasion.

This is another big problem with Jurgen. He works them so hard during training that they are already running on half a tank on gameday. Just look at how many guys we have had get injured either with the team or shortly after they get back to their club.

How is it we've beaten Mexico numerous times before, often with a inferior player pool?

Soooo... Taylor T just made the claim that Fab regularly fakes injuries on live tv
Uh...is that true? I don't know much about Fabian's club career, but I don't remember this ever happening for the USMNT.
Or do only head injuries count as real injuries to Twellman?

Look, I didn't come outright and say it to avoid being completely destroyed for it, but I paid for FoxSoccer2Go to rewatch the match. He was clearly exhausted, but I saw literally NOTHING that indicated he was injured. Right before he came off, he was right there with the attack on the goal from Wood. He may have picked up a minor knock, but I still think that him coming off had zero to do with any injury.
He just looked absolutely exhausted. I mean I know it won't be popular to say this, but I honestly don't think Jurgen would turn on one of his little German gems without a valid reason. If Fabian Johnson was a beloved American hero, I could see it happening. I think that he likely had a somewhat valid reason to be pissed, but he's so disliked now that you can say pretty much anything and people will believe it.
Maybe Fab is really injured, but if he did fake it, he really does need to take a step back for a bit.

Faking legitimate injuries is a pretty serious thing for someone to be accused of. I just think that it's strange how the night of the match the story was that he came off because he was tired and afraid of reinjuring his calf. Now the story is that he had injured his thigh.
That's what I meant when I said unrelated. Jurgen's statement was that the injury was unrelated to his calf injury and not bad enough to come off for. Now, obviously, it's not his place to say if it's bad enough, but if someone's just making up shite to get out and ruining your plan, however shitty that plan may be, it's going to end up being an issue.
Now, Taylor Twellman may also have accepted a charitable donation from one Jurgen K, but I am just unable to believe that this is all just Jurgen being a dick. This is beyond anything else he's done with players who he's had issues with. With LD he just smiled and acted like he didn't know that there was a problem at all. In this situation, he was openly pissed about it. Even if it was something minor like a "Go frick yourself", it'd still make more sense than just Jurgen being such an egomaniac that he accuses people of lying about injuries just because he won't be able to give Nick Rimando a chance to be the hero.
