re: Was It Rape? Or Was It Regrettable Drunk Sex?

The way I read this story is...
Girl goes to college formal. Drinks at least one whole bottle of booze. Gets blackout drunk, as does her date. Has drunken sex with date. Wakes up surprised that she got blackout drunk, and probably embarrassed that she slept with her date. Does walk of shame out of bedroom and claims rape.
Again I ask, why is everyone else responsible for her once she gets that drunk?

Again. I know you to be level-headed and I usually come down squarely on the side of most of these "grey area hookups" being just that. Two drunk people fricking and the girl feeling bad about it later. *If she's being truthful* she was blackout drunk and wanted to get away badly enough to wonder into someone else's room, the common living room, and a public hallway buck arse naked.
Don't stick your dick in a girl that drunk. It's not that hard.
I think you're forgetting the part where the guy is also drunk
who knows? Maybe she came on to him in her blacked out state. He may not even remember because he may be blacked out. So who raped who? No one knows.
But the guy gets his life ruined.

Did someone you know get falsely accused?
You seem pretty gung-ho about this. I am too.
One of my friends had this happen to him in high school. Even though it happened in his senior year, it changed his whole high school and college experience.

Because women are simultaneously strong and independent and fragile flowers not responsible for their own actions.

Well yeah, but when she 'came to' all she said was 'she got him off her' without indication of how difficult/easy that was and if he complied or resisted
Also, she didn't say if he was conscious or awake when 'she got him off her'. I assume he was as drunk as she was.
She does NOT have a right to get drunk IF she is under-age. That is on her.

2 people
1 in HS and 1 in college
the HS case was thrown out pretty quick because it was obvious, but the college case ruined the guys life for a good year

I'm assuming she was. Women as a whole have lost my trust when it comes to these types of cases. More often than not they're lying so I'm going to assume that they're all lying until I see physical evidence. A woman's account of an accused rape shouldn't even be admissible in court.
You're way out of touch if you really believe this.
Most of the shite that gets posted on the OT might be false accusations, but that doesn't mean shite to the overall rape accusations in this country.
Your last sentence is incredibly ignorant.

She was a sophomore, so probably underage. I don't know how much that matters though, if at all. He might have been underage as well.

Sounds great on the surface, but that is a slippery fricking slope
What about if the guy loses his job and his friends alienate him? who's the real victim?

Even if everything she said is the truth, the parts she can't remember might be her consenting to sex with him, or even initiating it.
Okay maybe. Maybe earlier she asked him to film her in a bukkake blwobang but he decided to go through a k-hole and forgot about that request. We can play hypotheticals with stuff that hasn't been presented all night, but I can tell you as a solid daily drinker who has at times been a stone fricking drunk, I never got around to boning a chick who could barely see straight. Hell, I've been drunk as shite, brought girls home, and ultimately decided against doing anything because they seemed too woozy. And I'm not some great fricking person. It's simple common decency and common sense (from a legal standpoint). I'd bet most of you at some point (while drinking) have said "yeah, this chick is too drunk." It's not rocket science and whining about double standards isn't going to do shite in front of a judge. Deal with reality.

Exactly.
I love how she claims she drank way too much as a crutch for what happened to her, then claims that her date drinking won't excuse him of his guilt.
She's SJW enough to drink as much as she wants to, but pulls the damsel in distress card the moment it becomes convenient.

know the guys state? how do we know that he was sober enough to consent?
You sir nailed it.
Just because the girl is the one that regrets it doesn't mean that she wasn't all for it while she was drunk. And if the guy is drunk as well how is he in the right mind to say "Listen here little lady, you are too drunk for this and really don't want this"
My issue with it all is that the girl cries about rape then people don't want to be against "rape" so the next thing you know this guys life is ruined for doing something that was just as much her fault as his fault.

You inferred that out of thin air. Dude's dick was apparently working well enough. 20 years old or not, there are limits to human physical performance. Having no actual evidence one way or another, it is more likely that he was not blackout drunk than that he was.

I'm genuinely curious to know if people believe that the majority of rape accusations are false? Are there any numbers to back this up?
Posted on 10/9/15 at 3:24 pm to LSUBoo
I hate how muddied the waters are. I have friends that were legit raped and I have friends that were legit abused, but it seems like everyone and their mother is trying to fit their scenarios into those terms. It's insanely disrespectful to people that actually went through those horrors.

We don't really know. However, we know for a fact that there have been many accusations proven false (e.g., sue to video) that in the past would have stuck around. The fact that these are out there should scare people.

That's not necessarily true. He could have been fingerbanging her because he couldn't get it up.
Again, all hypothetical because we only have half of the story.
