I know Red Cross is taking donations at the game, but they have a lot of negatives.
What are some sites you are using?

We had a thread awhile back.
People were pretty down on them and it seemed legit.

Better question is What are the positives?

Aid money being used to buy water and food for the Jena 6 protesters was a negative IMO. I don't think people expect disaster relief money will be used to sustain a voluntary protest.

I would try to contact churches in those areas. Most churches are pretty good at being active in helping out their communities in times of need.
You would at least know that the money you donated actually helped those in need.

Agreed. After my last few experiences with the Red Cross they can GFY. Would like other alternatives.

Give them nothing but blood. Even that, they can't/won't guarantee it will go to SC.

frick Red Cross. They are a complete scam and a fraud of a charity.
If you really want to donate, your best bet would be to use the local charities based in South Carolina that are not affiliated with any national organization.
The bigger the organization is, the more likely your donation will not be used in a morally sound way.

I was going to say the Salvation Army. They're a good choice.

Samaritans Purse is always on CharityNavigator's top 10 list. I would donate to them.
