any see this movie? I read that people were getting sick in the theaters because of the effects. I think the story is a bit silly, but I am kind of curious to see the visual effects and see if it gives me vertigo which was apparently the goal of the director.
Also saw it had a 35 million dollar budget and it hasnt cracked 2 million yet.

Its only out in Imax 3D right now so that's gonna limit the audience. The reviews have been good and Zemeckis' movies tend to be entertaining. The story doesn't really interest me but I kinda want to see it anyway.

JGL's accent sounds laughably bad, but the visuals look pretty cool.

I haven't seen the movie yet but I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess he makes it across.

I read where a guy said If you wanna watch The Walk, just watch Man on Wire. It's better than whatever they will make.
Or something to that effect.

Man on Wire is a great doc. I hope this does it justice, half the story was getting up there to pull it off.

I saw it last Friday. I'm not a person who's really afraid of heights but I got so nervous my palms were sweating. I had to constantly remind myself that I was just watching a movie. Thankfully he's only on the wire for about 30 minutes bc I don't think I could have taken much longer. He's such an arrogant French a-hole I kept rooting for him to fall

Could they not get Matt Smith to play the part. He's a dead ringer for Philippe.

Meh. If you enjoy 2 people talking like a man walking across a wire is the greatest accomplishment in the history of mankind for 1.5 hours then yes it's fantastic. Otherwise I found the walker and his lover to be so over the top emotional about the whole ordeal that it lost me.

Not interested in the story line. I dont find the act to be very impactful or interesting, just plain crazy.

Has anyone seen the conspiracy video about Back to the Future predicting 9/11? It references this movie because JGL is dressed almost exactly as Marty in BttF. It's out there, but the connections they find are still kind of interesting.
I lol'd multiple times. Thanks for the laugh.

I think the clock on the mall sign might be shopped. I'll look and see one day.

Will probably see it today.
It might be more popular if the title of the movie were "The Walk with JGL."

Shame this movie seems to be a flop despite the modest budget. I guess I understand - it's a near impossible movie to market, partly because the existence of MAN ON WIRE makes it appear unnecessary. But man, it's so good.
I highly recommend everybody check it out in IMAX 3D while it's still in theaters. It's really the only format to bother with if you have any inclination to see this.
