According to the New Orleans Police Department, an employee at Success Preparatory Academy in the 2000 block of Bienville Street was walking into the school, when a suspect approached her with a gun.

I believe I actually saw the suspect running from there this morning as I was passing by. He was big and grey, looked a lot like the statue of Robert E Lee.

Gun Culture*
* not second amendment gun culture, I mean this stupid culture of people being too pussy to do anything with their fists coupled with the ease of acquiring a gun.
I wish we could publicly cage these animals and keep them outside for people to torment.

Any opportunity taken to point out the ridiculousness of the remove the statues campaign is time well spent.

mine have, that's why I get them so cheap. I just wish I could clean these scratches off so I can see what the words and numbers under the scratches say.

There's the second amendment for you;
Can't celebrate its "good" portions and not accept the bad that comes with it

It's the most barbaric and outdated amendment we have.
It serves us, literally no purpose in 2015. For all our exceptionalism, you'd think we'd be smarter than the rest of the world and would have ditched it along time ago.
It was useful when our framers and first settlers had to fend off the British and conquer the new world. That threat is gone now and has been gone since the mid 1800s. Everything after that has just been wasteful.
But I think it's extended "relevance" is a by product of capitalism. For all its good, people are obsessed with their material goods and their attainment of $ and capital and property and will go to whatever lengths to defend it, even if it means. Blood. As a Christian, fighting for the death for worldly things is kinda like worshiping a false God, something you think a "Christian" nation would get a grip of.
Ultimately, it's the best system we have and the best system for growth and potential. But this just seems to be one of the things that comes with it
