I feel like Ward is about to be revealed as the MCU version of Taskmaster.
That would be absolutely awesome

I bet her team will be a focal point in the second half of the season,
They have to build the team first.
The original secret warriors were:
Daisy Johnson (Quake) - Main Cast
YoYo Rodriguez (Slingshot) - Reoccurring Character, Natalia Cordova-Buckley
Alex Aaron (Phobos) - TBD
Sebastian Druid (Druid) - TBD
J.T. Slade (Hellfire) - TBD
Jerry Sledge (Stonewall) - TBD
Eden Fesi (Manifold) - TBD
I can see Joey Gutierrez filling the Slade role as his powers are similar. I don't see how they can possibly put Phobos in this unless the entity on the other planet is Ares. With his teleportation powers, Manifold is a must-have and I don't see how they introduce Druid until after the Doctor Strange film.

I've seen that speculation in the comments section on Screen Rant before. I agree with one guys rebuttal to it that it would simultaneously the most in-depth and lamest origin story for such a major comic book villain in the MCU.
I just doubt the movie side would give the TV side that character, personally.

Rumors have swirled that Taskmaster would show up on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but those have since been proven false. Given the likelihood that Marvel Studios do not own his rights, it wouldn't have been possible anyway. It seems very strange that Taskmaster, a villain who was introduced in the Avengers comics, would show up anywhere but the MCU, but there's no real clarity as to why the rights were at Fox.
Outside of the interview with Carnahan, a quick search did not supply any other information about the rights to Taskmaster reverting back to Marvel.
CONCLUSION: Given the information available, Taskmaster's film rights are, inexplicably, at Fox.

Ward is finally dead!
Sort of.
I guess he's not the taskmaster.
So who is this being?

Coulson was cold blooded with the rib destruction. I read a theory that the "death" thing is a secret warrior villain called Hive. Seems to fit

Sucks that Ward is dead. He is the best part of the show.

So what was the deal with wills leg? Was it just bone and muscle. Couldn't see shite with the blue filter

Why did Coulson leave the hand behind? I didn't really get that part.
And I'm annoyed that they put the evil entity into Ward's body. I'm just tired of that actor altogether. He's terrible.

Hive doesn't seem that threatening globally.

Coulson used that hand to kill Ward. He doesn't like to do that sort of thing in cold blood, but it was necessary. Apparently he hasn't gone full nick fury yet. He'd rather leave the hand behind that did this, was my interpretation.

I feel like 50% of the cast phones it in.
Brett Dalton (ward) isn't one of them.
I was hoping he was going to be around for the duration of the show as ward.
Also, does seem like the new characters all of have the same personality?

Where are the extreme comic nerds with the scoop?

Makes sense. I don't really agree that it was done in cold blood though, simply because it was necessary.
ETA: That I don't think it was in cold blood doesn't mean Coulson feels the same way. He was clearly affected.

Definitely not. I'm trying to think of who or what the worm could be from the comics.
