The saints had the ball in all three games with a chance at a game winning drive. Gives some optimism that they can turn this around at some point. just trying to find some kind of silver lining right now.

3 teams since the merger have made the playoffs after starting 0-3. This team will not be the 4th. We do not have the roster those teams had. Also, we had a similar situation last year where we had chances to win at the end and failed to convert, or we would give up the game winning touch down at the last moment. 2015 Saints aren't playing much different than the 2014 Saints in that regard.

Agree completely this is not a playoff team. I was just trying to make the point we are only a couple of pieces away from competing again. Several years ago we pull those types of games out and are 3-0. Not happening now but a few decent wr options and I think we can get there. Gonna be a rough year though.

I agree about being able to compete next year. We are just in such a hole with bad drafting, bad cap management, and bad FA contracts we are in almost the same place as last year. ESPECIALLY considering we never replaced the receivers we traded away.

Only thing that gives me hope is we drafted pretty good depth this year. Thing that really breaks my hope is the bad free agency acquisitions still being made. I still think Drew can compete with the best in the NFL.

That's where I am. Wasted year this year but I'm trying to be optimistic the front office can draft decently and extend drews contract to make some room. It's unicorn and rainbows stuff but I've gotta hope right?

NOT just a few pieces away! Every time they gain a piece it underperforms or gets hurt. Clean slate. Complete do over required

don't forget special teams errors preventing at least a field goal attempt at the end the last two games.

Hocker missed a field goal and had an extra point blocked vs. Tampa

Luke couldn't handle a snap on an extra point today.

I'd still like to see us compete but if we are going to suck this year and pull a top five draft pick, that combined with a Drew Bree's extension to help with the cap really ought to put us in a good place going into next season.

This is a rebuilding year not a wasted year. It's a year to give the young guys a chance to improve.

Enjoy watching the young guys. The defensive rookies are actually playing well. And they're improving. They might actually be pretty good by the end of the season and next year they might be great.

We get a big man reciever and a guard, both easily fixable in draft or free agency, and our offense will be just fine.

I blame that on Payton. He got the start today. There was no reason to have him handling FG snaps. Too much on his mind and too much other shite going on. They should've had someone else taking field goal snaps all week. That's bad coaching.

No, you keep the same holder who has been holding all throughout training camp, preseason, and the first 2 games! Had they put Grayson or Moorestead holding and they messed up a hold then everyone, including you, would have been saying how stupid it was to change holders in one week.

Cool. Let's get rid of the young players that are already contributing like Kikaha, Anthony, Cooks, Swann, etc.

Agree to disagree. The guy was playing football for the first time in years on the road and playing well. He had too much on his mind and he shouldn't have done it. You think he's the only person who can do that? You think they don't have another one in practice?

I like how you use a "what if" scenario to counter his argument, when that happened with the guy he had in there.
