I don't know what kind of contacts or pedigree an AD has to have
Do you need nation wide and industry contacts to hire a good coach? Does AF have that? I honestly don't know. I like AF I just don't understand what qualifies him and what would not.

That's nteresting , I hadn't even thought about him. After a year off I'm sure he's looking to get back to work. I think he's worth consideration

What happens with recently appointed Assistant AD Barbara Burke? Was she hired with this in mind? I'd love to see Arnie get the job but I just don't see Tulane going with an old white dude.

Most universities hire a search firm for their coaching searches.

He's also Jewish and that'll sell really well at Tulane.

Saban to Tulane
That would be awesome. He should do it to prove he can win anywhere. Imagine how much it would feed his ego to succeed at Tulane.
If he takes Tulane to the playoffs he becomes the unquestionable GOAT. He'll always be second at Bama and right now he's behind Corch Irving Meyers for the current era. But win at a G5 school with almost no history of success?
Of course, Rick Dickson is gone so we can't expect two good things to happen in one year.

We're 2-0 in the SEC and they meltdown that we dont throw enough passes. You're not exactly going out on a limb.

What? Why? Aren't all AD's old white guys? Fwiw you also said they'd never hire a black football coach.

You would probably do just as good as anyone they hire. First thing I would do is move to lower the academic standards for athletes.

Turning around Tulane would ensure Saban as the GOAT

Arnie Fielkow should be new AD

Is this the guy that extended Bob Toledo after a 4 win season? Congrats to Tulane. If they get this hire right they might have decent sports in 3 years.

Such great news on so many levels. Now the critical move is getting the next hire right. Need someone who isn't infected by the Tulane model of low standards. Fielkow would be a natural fit.
