How is the Polynesian? Is it better to stay somewhere on the monorail?

Easily one of my favorite resorts. But, being on the monorail line, you pay a MASSIVE premium. There's a lot of construction going on there right now though. They're converting some longhouses to DVC, they just built some over-water bungalows that are the most expensive rooms on property, they renovated the main lobby and were working on the main pool (not sure of the status).

That being said, I LOVE Poly.

Monorail resorts are great.

The Poly is nice. But you need to have a big budget for the Deluxe Resorts and they are very convenient to the Magic Kingdom.

Excellent for mid-day breaks. Good Restaurants. I'd have park hopper passes so you can visit Epcot easily for cocktails, dinner and fireworks after a day in the Magic Kindgom.

But for many people, it's not at the cost benefit ratio of the Moderate resorts.

I've never tried stayed at a Value Resort and I've been about 30 times.

It's the best resort imo. You have the monorail right at your doorstep, the grounds and atmosphere are incredible and you're a 5 minute walk from the Ticket and Transportation center to get anywhere you want to go. I would stay there every time if I could.

Little tip. Google Disney planning companies. They get conference rate deals for the Deluxe resorts meaning you'll pay the same for those rooms as you would for one of the moderates. They only have them at certain times but it's definitely worth calling around.
