Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I nor any other LSU fan was watching the game.
This. Yet another smart arse response to someone trying to give some credit to a player who is doing a good job. People like you really bring a lot of negativity to
this board. Maybe next time just piggy back on his post and add something positive for a change. Just something to consider. Have a great Tiger evening!!

It's funny because normally the game "angle" would have been Harris' revenge from last season, but Buga was too overwhelming to not get the lions share of the coverage. But it was a great payback performance by Harris.

Maybe Miles and Cameron are bringing this kid along right, giving him a little more each game as he earns it by showing he's getting up to speed on SEC-caliber football.

I hope they let him go pass happy versus Syracuse knowing full well we can dominate via running any given time.

You can just see his confidence growing with almost every play. Those sailed passes yesterday don't really concern me. He is going to start hitting those and we will be super balanced and unstoppable. That pass in the flats to the TE was really a nice throw and he had some great reads
Maybe, but he had some drops that would have made his stats look better too. I thought he had a GREAT game!

I'm hoping that after dominating the first half of the games before the gauntlet Les makes Harris finish games with his arm. It would be good for him to get a lot of passes in before November.

These next two games will tell us a lot about how the coaches are looking at the stretch run. If we see an expanded passing game on display early on, that should tell us that they have plans to be more balanced later on. If it is more of the same, that is a little bit of a concern. Against Bama and OM, we will need to spread the field more to keep the defenses off balance.

He made a few errant throws,
But note where the errant throws were made. Aside from the one hanging his tight end out to dry, which was actually accurate, just ill advised, no throw that I can remember was in the vicinity of a defender. He threw it such that either his receiver was going to get it or no one was and that's the sign of a maturing quarterback.

He still needs to work on his touch on some of his longer throws, but he looked extremely comfortable yesterday. I have no doubt he's only going to continue to improve.

The 2 best throws were incomplete, but he played great. The one where he let Jeter out to dry the ball was beautifully placed in the middle of traffic far down field and that Malachi drop on the sideline that he threw on the run was an NFL throw.
The TD pass was a tight window too. Kid has shown flashes of elite arm talent. I think next few games he really gets in a rhythm. He is making great decisions and really leveraging his running ability to keep the defenses honest.
Such an intelligent and mature young man too.

I was anxious over the play calls in the state game. Yesterday, we were able to run for over 400 yards. Really, there wasn't much reason to throw. Running is the safer option and it was no challenge for them.
What I think we're seeing is a gentle development of Brandon Harris. He's going to SEE a lot of football, make calls and reads without being asked to do a whole lot in the early going. They're slow playing him and asking him to be a game manager. LSU wins, he makes some throws when he's asked to, scrambles for some firsts etc.
I think as he proves to Les and Cam that he can make those reads and the easy completions and not look overwhelmed, he'll start to get more and more leash in the form of trust from the coaches and they'll let him go with longer passes in addition to what he's already proved he can do. Sure, I'd like them to be a bit more aggressive but I think as we go on, they'll get more comfortable with Harris.

It can be frustrating seeing a guy who has a ton of talent being brought along so slowly. However, I think back to McCarron at Bama. They also slow played his first year. He was a complete non-factor in the first game, and then really hurt us in the BCSNC Game because he developed enough for his coaches to trust him.
I hope it doesn't cost us a game, like it did that Bama team. However, it worked out in the end for them. I think we will see a lot of big passing plays later in the season, as they transition Harris from mere game manager to a first-strike weapon.

3 games dude, that is all he has played at this level so far and all 3 were SEC teams and the Auburn game last year doesn't count. Are you expecting him to be a fullbore all star right now?

No, not at all. I have expected the coaches to dial up the deep ball more. That's all. They did that with Jennings last year, but Harris has only attempted 2 or 3, and the one he hit was wiped out with a penalty.
We all see the talent and arm strength. Some people were pretty frustrated after the State game, but I am personally hopeful that the slow approach will work best. I just want to see the staff continue to build on what we have seen so far.

He's made all the plays when his number is called.
Obviously they don't want him to be slinging the ball in big SEC games where he could throw a couple of picks and get his confidence down. Especially when we have number 7 doing what he does.
Expect to see him airing it out in the next few weeks.
