Per the New Orleans Advocate

quote:

A man armed with a shotgun robbed three 18-year-olds at a park Uptown on Tuesday night.

According to New Orleans police, the three victims were sitting in a park at the corner of Napoleon Avenue and Camp Street around 9:20 p.m. when a shotgun-armed man approached them and demanded their phone and money.

The victims complied, and the robber fled.

No information on the robber has been released.

If that. I'm guessing the park is those basketball courts on Napoleon. That's literally right next door to the police station.

Pretty sure you shouldn't be out at a park after 9pm in NOLA. I'm just sayin'.

My buddy lived next door to the Chief of Police and had all of his lawn-care stuff stolen from his garage.

It's right by one of the busiest parts of Magazine street. It shouldn't be an issue but it in the current state of affairs, it is.

No it's on the other side of Napoleon from the court. The construction provide great cover for the thug.

It really has turned into a complete shithole.

When I saw the Angelico story, I shook my damn head. Unreal. Even the nice parts are dangerous now.

And if they aren't dangerous, the roads are complete garbage. I wouldn't live in New Orleans anywhere anymore.

Complete frickin dump.

I never thought NOLA would become more dangerous after Katrina.

apparently it is because the population continues to grow and now more than 10 million people visit the city each year.

But I agree, it's really in a bad place right now. Crime is out of control, there is no leadership, racial tensions are at a all time high, the NOPD is just complete disarray, it's really a fricking mess

Was about to ask if it's lit up like Perkins Road Park. Could see this happening there to some kids skateboarding and actually not up to no-good.
