Les acted like Harris threw 2 picks last night

The handcuffing of the offense, the attempt to shorten the game, all of it looked like what happens every time we have a turnover or 2 in a game. Les gets all freaked out and tries to just will the clock to run faster and get out alive. Yet Harris looked poised and in control out there, and hadn't made a serious mistake all night. I'd hate to see how the coaches would react if Brandon actually did turn it over

You need to realize the history of LSU QBs during his tenure here. Can you blame him given hi frame of reference from JJ, Lee, And Jennings?

that's not fair to this current team
can you remember the 2013 offense?
we have the players right now to be that.. we actually resemble more like the 2007 offense imo. but probably more talented overall than both.

Yes he needs to grow a set and stop playing conservative...Get the lead and start bleeding the clock....Not gonna cut it...

Season opener, SEC opener, on the road in a hostile environment. See how the season develops before throwing in the towel.

Yes, what you just said is the reason why you can blame him.

Was thinking the same thing while watching last night.
Today. it occurred to me that the crowd noise was enough to disrupt communications & timing such that more passing may have lead to turnovers. The last thing we need is for BH to have a confidence breakdown in the 1st game of the season.
This week I expect to see much more passing with a quiet crowd & against a suspect Aub secondary.

Meh. I would've liked it if Les had a bit more confidence in Harris last night too, but that will come with time. I can't fault Miles too much for playing conservative with a QB making his second start of all time. Yes, the conservative play ended up allowing MSU to make it close, but imagine if he had turned the offense loose and we ended up allowing a pick 6 or something. Then everyone would be ranting about why we didn't just keep running Fournette to drain the clock.
At the end of the day, Fournette proved that he's going full beast mode this year, Harris may not have finished with a ton of yards but he made several excellent throws and no mistakes, and we won the game. That's a lot of great things to build on.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that Steele and Coach O proved that their defense can be counted on to win the game on the final drive.

Actually, if Harris had thrown 2 picks, Les would have benched him and put in Jordan Jefferson.

Who are these sec programs with multiple great qbs during Miles' tenure ? Florida hasn't had one since tebow. A&M hasn't had one since JM. Auburn hasn't had one since Cam. We had one with Mett

I'm pretty Les Miles was mentally damaged in that National Championship game. He got castrated there and has played scared since.

Right because losing a national title game is such a blow to someone's ego. Do you know how many active coaches have made it to a national title game, let alone 2.

I would say that the fan base got castrated in that game but then I realize that most of them aren't anything more than vags anyway.

My repost from amother thread:
Miles will continue to do what he does....hamstring our athletes and play not to lose. frick that. I was really hoping for optimism after last night, but I see the same pattern emerging on offense.
We are a three TD better team than State. Miles has lost me. I can't continue to stick my head in the sand while we run the same ole predictable crap on offense. It's fricking frustrating and I have no clue how y'all can't think that Miles' effectiveness hasn't reached the end of its' road.

Les had memory relapse from his days at Michigan. Three yards and a cloud of dust, Woody Hayes on the opposing sideline, Bo Schembeckler giving the repeated order to "run the damn thing up the middle, we can outman them even if they know it's coming." "We're going to show em' how real men play this game"

You are 100% correct.

Here's why
bullshite. We got lucky they weren't kicking a 40 yarder for the win and lucky they didn't make it. Les clenched like he always does and the result was 7 points in the last three quarters. That's why our games are always close and it's why we blow leads against teams that have no business being in the game. Les always thinks it's the smart thing to do but it's the absolute dumbest fricking thing to do. You'd think one day he'd wake up and realize it. Nope...not gonna happen.

I really believe deep down that is Miles' dream game plan: Run, run run up the middle again & again...
