I passed the accident earlier.
Looked like a car, three pickup trucks and one 18 wheeler involved.
All three pickups looked totaled or close to it.
It is straight interstate there but the lanes are compressed, shoulders are closed and there is a lane shift there to make room for construction of the new millerville on ramp. I'm sure that was a contributing factor.

The speed limit goes down to 50 right there. I typically go 55-60 through there and everyone is still flying past me going 70+
I honestly don't feel comfortable going the speed limit right there. I've almost been hit from behind a few times from assholes weaving in and out of traffic going 20+ over speed limit

I travel from Prairieville to Hammond / Mandeville fairly frequently, and I much prefer to use 42 through Springfield, Ponchatoula than deal with the asshats on I12. A little bit longer, but much easier drive.

I'm sure someone tried to change two lanes at once. I've seen many idiots try to go from far left lane to far right lane and frick everything up for everyone.

It looked like someone tried to merge from the entrance ramp on millerville and didn't make it or traffic stopped and several cars ran up each others asses.

my wife was the only car in the accident. she said the 18 wheeler couldn't stop and blamed it on the "grease" marks on the interstate in the construction zone. the 18 wheeler hit 2 pickups, which hit 2 pickups. the last 2, one hit the concrete wall the other hit my wife's car. everyone walked away, but vehicles were towed.
