sorry to hear the Roger.

Trucker. I do feel that insurance and Pharma are more interested in treatments, but I know the doctors and researchers are constantly looking to improve treatments and options for patients. The recent advancements in Viral treatments look promising.
I'm not going to buy that a change in diet will kill off existing cancer though.

I went through chemo at Ochsner in BR. My moms brother and sister both started treatment at Oschners for Lukemia. Then went to MD Anderson for bone marrow transplant. My uncle survived but my Aunt passed away just before i completed my treatment.

So sorry for your family's loss, Napoleon. It just doesn't get much worse than that. Sending prayers your way.

It's one of the things I've dreaded. I wasn't close to my dad, but I'll miss him.

No secret I haven't exactly taken care of my internal organs with some abuse issues. I imagine it's in my future some day as well.

that's my fear as well. I've already had a large mole cut off my leg (minor crap).

But I fear going to the doctor and them finding a tumor and then it's too late. I sometimes feel like it's not if but when.

Family is doing great. Aunt that passed was a die hard Saints fan an lurked here, not sure if she had an account, but TD's homepage was in her bookmarks.

I feel bad for my cousins though, this is a lot to take in.

I'm going through old pics and video now. The one of my uncle cursing my three year old self out on the MART gondola over the river at the World's fair is priceless. Apparently I was rocking the gondola and he was freaking out hard.

Had just made cds and went through pics and video for my aunt now doing the same for my uncle.

I hate dealing with death.

If you really want to see cancer at its worse, go to M.D.Anderson's pediatrics' floors. Open the elevator door & see the 100's of children of all ages sitting there in the waiting room. Several floors worth of kids suffering. And do the math re how many will see next yr.

I hope President Trump takes all the money spend on illegal alien services and puts it toward something worthwhile such as medical research.

I hate how much money our government wastes on ridiculous initiatives and doesn't fund needed research to the level it needs.

I've lost numerous family members and friends to cancer and had several others beat it. It's an absolutely terrible disease that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

When I was in college, my ex was doing a research study on St. Judes. What she found was that somewhere in the range of 70% of their patients at the time were from Louisiana.
That was the day I decided I was moving away from all the chemical plants.

Lost my dad 2 weeks ago to Pancreatic cancer. Worst part about going through it with them is that you are watching them die day by day and you are completely helpless.

well Mr. Know it all, it's not what you don't know that gets you.
It's what you DO KNOW, that simply isn't so, that gets you.

Survivor here. Radiation-chemo-surgery. Then you begin living your life in 90 day blocks for the first two years then 180 day blocks for the next 3 years until you hit 5 years when they consider you cancer free. I'm at 3 years and 5 months (Go for my next PET Scan next month). Worst thing you can hear is for the doctor to tell you that you have caner....Most empowering thing is to fight it....Changed my entire outlook on life. Got back to the 4 F's of life. Faith, Family, Football and Food (healthier eating). Would have added the 5th F; F'ing, but chemo truly throws a monkey wrench into that for quite a while....

Mother in law beat out Stage 4 adenocarcinoma w/ pleural effusion a little over a year ago. First doctor she saw gave her two months. See the best doctor you can possibly afford and treat your body like a feaking temple. She juiced daily and ate only organic for the entire cycle of treatment, 8 sessions of chemo while taking Tarceva daily. Not only did the cancer dissapear, so did the tumor they first discovered it on, which was 8 cm at the time.

Isn't Dr. Pauling the VIt C nutjob whose experiments haven't been reproducible?

I must admit I wasn't aware of who Dr. Lorraine Day was. Googling her name reveals that she is a Holocaust denier who believes God gave her the 10 steps to cure cancer.

One of my dearest and most beloved friends (Em) who always makes me laugh, lost her husband to cancer a few months ago.

A week ago she went to the Dr and was told that she too has cancer, an un-treatable kind and only has months to live.

It is devastating. I love Em so dearly. She has a daughter and grand-babies that she adores. She is well known for making everyone laugh and cutting up, especially during work-related conferences.

I hate cancer with a passion for taking such an amazing person from this earth and from her grandbabies and for taking so many other amazing and beloved people from this earth.

Yup at md Anderson the kids in hospital are on one side and adults on other side.

When my doctor took my bed from me because I refused to leave it i walked that side a lot with IV machine.

The kids take it better than the adults. One kid had one leg cut off and chemo for 10 yrs and was playing basketball on the inside court like a champ in a wheel chair.

Worst is purple zone where that was the zone that people went in their last days to die from cancer. They stuck me there a few times when I had to come back in due to being anemic and I had to stay in hospital until my WBC count went up. All you hear is moans and screams all day and night.

you know why they haven't been reproducible?
they never tried.

and what does denying the holocaust have to do with fighting cancer? apples/oranges

and just so you know, quackwatch was started by AMA gangsters to smear any of the competition who could cost their doctors any profits for cancer treatments among other things.

I'm sorry to hear that. Man this disease is just so horrible. It's so random how people contract it. It's not like Hiv or measles where you just catch it, this devil just shows up inside you and starts destroying your body.
