Post this on the SECr to get the Aggys riled up.

I was thinking the same... Aggy are so arrogant about this stuff, they will be crushed
Posted on 8/27/15 at 1:39 pm to LL7
If I was a Texas fan I would be so pissed off.

I don't even understand why. I get that they think they're hot shite but I work with multiple guys from Texas and they all say that Texas A&M is widely viewed as a school for lower class redneck cultish weirdos. When I think of "rich Texas colleges" I think of TCU, SMU, Baylor, UT, etc. not some brokedick A&M school in college station

They're actually really fricking loaded in terms of endowment and alumni wealth.
But they're still this 100%:

redneck, dorky, cultish weirdos

You know what's amazing (to me at least) about that? Only two of those ten schools--Alabama and Georgia--finished in the final AP Top 25 poll. Only two more (LSU and Oklahoma) even got votes. It shows how far some of the traditional, powerhouse mega-programs have fallen in recent years.

More loaded than UT or SMU? Doubtful. I mean I know they are compared to LSU but they're like a wealthy Mississippi State in terms of being goofy socially awkward hicks my point was that their "99.9%" of average students that aren't going to end up mega rich are viewed as lower class to most of the people I know from Austin and Houston. It's just kinda funny to me that they would be arrogant when they're viewed as a lower tier school by everyone that goes to better Texas universities

No one is more loaded than those schools
Pretty sure A&M is the wealthiest, or 2nd to Vandy, in the SEC. They are up there man.

Hey, I love mocking the weird TAMU people as much as the next guy. They are dorky, culty, ugly, weirdos. However, its a pretty dang good school and they are loaded, so while I like them being viewed as lower-class, I don't think there is really any truth to that reputation you've heard about.

What's sad is that Texas nickel and dimes its students, despite their absurd revenue success.
Some UT friends of mine thought paying $250 for the "all access sports pass" was a totally reasonable deal.

Whats that get you? If tickets to all home sporting events in all sports, that seems like a solid deal to me

Yeah that isn't too bad...
If LSU students paid more for tickets maybe they would actually go to the games

Fair enough, it could be wrong but I'm just passing on the shite talking that I hear from guys that went to other schools in Texas I do get the vibe from the SECr that they view themselves as "richest, most prestigious university in the country" and not "second best in a not very prestigious conference" though, which is absolutely hilarious to me

Please please please post this on the secrant
I might even plagiarise it

LSU's are only $90, and it doesn't pretend to bundle the cost of non-football sporting events that are offered for free.
With Auggie being too drunk to care, Mack struggling, and Rick Barnes throwing in the towel years ago, I would feel robbed of my money as a student.
Now it could be more the fact that LSU offers an incredible deal more than the idea that UT offers a horrible deal.

I have more than a few times in almost that exact wording when A&M fans pull their gay arrogant cocky bullshite.
You will never see a funnier, more intensely pissed off collection of responses on a message board. It's fricking priceless to bring up that they're not even in the top 3 most prestigious schools in Texas and watch them all freak the frick out and shite on UT repeatedly

SMU is comprised of a lot of the wealthiest kids across the country-especially California and the Northeast. It's got a far higher percentage of OOS kids than A&M, UT, and TCU. A&M and Texas are more so instate kids.
Still schools like LSU, Bama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss have gotten a lot of kids from good families and resumes just from the 8% rule alone

And UT is much better in other sports outside of the main ones and has twice as many students (thus more people at obscure sporting events). I bet their small sports aren't all free.
$90 for all LSU home football, basketball, and baseball games? That's unreal
