Holmes was sentenced to 12 life terms for each of the people he killed. He also received 3,318 years for the 70 wounded.
I know our justice system has flaws but there has got to be a better way to handle mass murderers than to give them basically 55+ life sentences.

Side note: One jury member held out on the death penalty so it wasn't an option.

Did you have a solution in mind other than the death penalty?

Great so he get's 3 hot's and a cot for the rest of his life. Along with free healthcare and cable.

Here's to hoping the prison justice system will succeed where the civilian justice system failed.

What are you suggesting? Death penalty was an option, but the jury rejected it. What other option did you want? Counseling?

we don't have a justice system; we have a legal system. Big difference.

I hope the vehicle transporting him "breaks down" along the way and the attending officers loudly ask the mob assembled to "look after him" while they go try to find a mechanic

I'd personally rather be dead then spend the rest of my life in prison esp if I was going in at a young age. With that said, in my mind, the former is less of a punishment than the later.

We could use him in medical experiments, starve him, play REM 24/7 in his cell, release him in the wild and charge big game hunters to hunt him. Give proceeds to the victims...just a few ideas

Any moderate OTer should know that yesterday is basically last week when it comes to breaking news on the OT. If you didn't post about it before it even happened, it's old news.

so we pay for him to live comfortably in AC until he dies of old age? Sounds legit.
