What percentage of the game code is cutscenes?

Apparently not a lot in this one

Destructoid is bringing down the meta score by giving it a 90

Should be less on this one just because of its massive size world.

I guess I'm going to have to start the series.

Do we need to play the other games to understand the game

I have no idea. I don't think the timeline follows the numbers. I read only 3 and peacewalker in the story take place before 5.

I haven't played a Metal Gear game in ages, but as a rule I try out any game that gets rated that high.

I'll play it eventually but not anytime soon.

I've never been able to get into MGS since the original NES versions (MG). Everything after, just totally meh. No matter the game. 2/Twin Snakes, 3, Patriots, Rising etc.
I try every time because the reviews are almost always ridiculously good, but I never get it. It seems like the worst chore of try, die, repeat until you luckily make it through. No skills, just process of elimination in terms of level design. And the stories...haha.
Granted this game LOOKS awesome again, but I downloaded the demo and felt the same thing.

This is one of the only series where the answer is usually yes. However reviews say this game isn't story heavy which has MGS fans throwing a hiss fit despite wonderful reviews.

I've never played a metal gear solid game before, but I got this game for free so we'll see if I enjoy it more than the Witcher. I would assume not, but it'll still be a good game.
