"Coach O has made a significant difference in pass rush,” Miles said. “We are a faster group. They recognize how to rush a pass.”
No deciphering needed here. I've been waiting for this for what seems like an eternity.

Our line always underperformed under brick. Glad O is here

Agreed. This season is going to be fun to watch.

Imagine our secondary if quarterbacks actually have to hurry their throws

Damn thats exciting. Maybe another big positive is that our Oline is getting a better look everyday at practice. I feel that our lines are gonna be much better as a whole this year. Even with the losses.

Whoever downvoted this is a giant vag and obviously not an LSU fan.

Been a long time since I've actually read a Les quote for obvious reasons, but again, he shows me why I was right to avoid his quotes.
ETA: Hope our secondary recognizes how to defend a pass.

We need this. Too much talent over the last five years on the DL not utilized properly.
Disciple has been there but need coaching and technique...and energy.
If our QB and DL improve, everything else remaining at least constant, then it will be a fun year to be a Tiger indeed.
I see those two as keys.

You guys crack me up. You think it's as simple as that? We're just adding pass rushing to our reperatoir?
Chavis had a defensive philosophy that worked very well for LSU for many years, including the best defense LSU assembled in the last half century. He believed in containing the QB and making him beat you with his arm. Now, we're apparantly going to pin our ears back. That's legitamate. But understand that it opens us up to attacks that we have gotten used to being invulnerable to. We'll see more draws, traps, screens, and QB scrambles than we're used to.
Whether this turns out to be a net positive remains to be seen. I'm optimistic, but we could easily be sitting here four months from now arguing about assigning spies to prevent our rush being gashed.
As usual, the right answer is to mix it up - sometimes pin your ears back, and sometimes contain. Keep the offense guessing and off balance. I think Chavis erred a little toward predictability. Hopefully Steele won't be predictable the other way.

This plays on what the Vikings said about Hunter....he didn't know how to correctly pass rush.

I'm very surprised to hear Miles is checking in on what a position coach is doing. Just the other day tRant told me this doesn't happen, weird.

Sure if Les Miles said it then it must be gospel.

I like how finally comes right out and says it. No bullshite no marble mouth, no parsing words. Just tell it like it is. I love it!

This is something that our D Line has been lacking in the last few years in my opinion. It seems that they tried to go more towards a bunch of smaller/faster d linemen, and that, imo, is why they were getting run on alot lately. We get a good pass rush and we get better overall. And imo, you need big fat strong uglies in the trenches to do that. I don't know if LSU has that right now, but at least having Coach O around, the ones we do have will be aggressive and get in the backfield.

A great pass rush means Pick City for our DB's!

Last year they had one of the best pass defenses with a nonexistent pass rush.
How good can they be now?

Line bring heat
Secondary covering the back end
LBs thumbing in the middle
I am pretty pumped.
