No respect

We've seen several media reports that don't give LSU much respect. Actually, I think it's fair because though we are very talented we have not performed at the level of our talent. This may be, and hopefully is, the year we regain that respect. We have to earn it by winning not by claiming it. Honestly, our talent level was depleted by the early exits and graduates but we do have a replenished roster of top athletes. I'm fine with the ratings we're getting because it can be incentive to win. We just have to take care of business. I'm cautiously optimistic about a 10 win season.

No respect + a very good team = Good sandbagging opportunities.
Of course, I find the fans of most top FBS teams are not versed in the fine art of sandbagging. They would rather trash talk. :)

We finished the season unranked and haven't shown improvement yet so we deserve to be ranked low.

I came here expecting you to be whining by your thread title and I was gonna say pretty much what you did.
Respect is earned, not given. We have tons of talent, but never play up to it. Steele is an unknown. Les and Cam need to prove they can develop an offense and QB outside of 2013 when we had a fifth year QB NFL arm and superstars at WR and RBs.
With all that said, I have very high hopes for this year. I've been telling everyone if we get at least average to above average QB play, we're looking at the playoffs.
