Falling Skies - final season is good

Hey I'm watching Falling Skies' final season. It is actually good again.

It's certainly better than the last season, but the last two episodes kinda sucked. I don't want to watch them in a ridiculous struggle with other humans.
I want to see them battle the aliens, though the rest of this season has been. That's what made this show so great the first season. Glad they went back to it

I think that's where the last episodes are heading. The preview of next week looked very promising.

It was a massive waste of time and episodes. If the final battle with the aliens is going to be huge, then you need as much airtime as possible to tell that story. I also want to see how they rebuild the world after they defeat the aliens. Did the aliens wreck enough shite that humans will be in the stone age for a while or will they get back to a 21st century standard of living quickly.

This season is fricking awful. I JF a thread about it a few weeks back. It's really, really bad and I'm only sticking it out because I've watched it from the beginning, but it's been a show that's never really been good but for whatever reason I stuck with it.
But this season is stupid. The acting is worse than ever. The plots make absolutely no sense. Weird shite happens for zero reasons. Etc. It's just really weird at this point.
ETA: My thread.

I think TNT and Spielberg just wrote this show off and put in some stretching plot filler to keep costs low and hired half arse actors to keep costs low as well. It's really nothing but a filler for the 9 PM slot in the summer time, not one of its marque shows.
It's wasted a lot of time on unnecessary bullshite with other humans instead of fighting the final battle against the aliens. There's 2 episodes left in the final season and they hinted to of all things in the previews pope following 2nd mass and fricking shite up and wasting air time instead of detailing the final battle against the aliens and rebuilding earth.
This show has fricked up priorities.

I trailed off again....I was doing ok until I saw some scene where a couple non-indigenous species of ball pythons were inexplicably crawling around a dead skitter corpse in the middle of the street for no other reason than to relay "creepy end of times" .....it was so fricking stupid
and really? one ...ONE crazy guy who lost his family is able to stall, stop then rob the ENTIRE 2nd Mass convoy all by himself?? its strategically impossible
and how is Pope still alive? Tom shot him point blank....this season is so fricking stupid
I got as far as the army brats tazing the kid in the bathroom....I dont know if I have the wear-with-all to finish this up

Lol. Me too. It is an awful show now.

That was the awfullest crap fest of a series finale. I guess it was a fitting ending though, since the series had digressed to a crap fest of a series.

That was a huge pile of shite for a finale. I loved that Pope showed up again for no fricking reason whatsoever. I was actually pulling for the Espheni in the end.

I don't know man, that was a decent finale to me. It was good but very limited in scope of action and scale. It was something we deserved after the lameass and uninspired shitshow of a final season. Then again, this series has never ever been truly great and nothing more than a time waster on summer Sunday nights.
I have to say though that the queen looked like a monster and definitely what I pictured the espheni big honcho would look like.
The first half of this episode should've been focused on taking down the queen and the second half focused on rebuilding the world. I would love to know the context of that speech at the Lincoln memorial and what the power structures of the world look like. Without borders? Is there going to be a one world government? I can hear globalists fapping to that reference.
I'm just glad this show is over and we can get a good show in its time slot. Last Ship is miles better than falling skies and I'm hoping for something similar.

My goodness that was horrible. The last scene was so bad.
So am I to assume the good aliens took Tom Mason's wife into the sea and brought her back to life? She was there at the finale with Tom giving another one of his inspiring speeches.

There were so many plot points in the finale that irked the hell out of me. First off, if the alien that saved Tom had a weapon that would kill off every living Espheni and their army, why is she/it the only surviving member of her/it's world (I'm not even going to get into how dumb it is that the weapon was able to kill off everything just by infecting the queen)?
Secondly, why in the hell even bring up the fact that the Espheni had invaded in the past, and was defeated by a bunch of Aztecs or Mayans or whatever Indian tribe was there at the time. I mean, why in the hell would they expect us to believe that a bunch of Indians with spears could send the Espheni packing, yet a world with modern weapons almost gets wiped out? What did forcing us to believe that load of crap actually add to the plot of the show?
And how convenient was it that Tom (by himself) locates the queen, who happens to not even be guarded? So you're telling me that the Espheni not only didn't throw some guards down in the tunnels where their nursery was, but they didn't think it was necessary to have someone guarding their queen (whose death meant the death of all of them)?
Finally, the forced drama of everything was just bad. Starting from the forced reaction when the opening battle happened and no reinforcements came, and then all of a sudden a bunch of bikers show up to be the long awaited reinforcements. Then, as I stated, Tom gets cut off and has to save the day on his own. And what was the point of Anne having to die, only to get resurrected by the alien that couldn't even save her own people. And Pope showing up was outright lame.
That's why to me it was about as bad of a finale as I have seen in a while.

It had absolutely not context to it whatsoever. We have no idea of the what the power structures look post espheni war and what Mason's role was and who's really in charge. We have no idea if they will ever get back to the standard of living they enjoyed before the invasion and what demographics look like after the war.
It's gloablist and an anarchist's wet dream depending on how you look at it.

That finale was terrible. It seemed like they were in a hurry to wrap everything up, which makes no sense since they had all season to do it.
So Tom kills the queen (which the show probably spent half of their effects budget on), carries Anne from Washington DC to the beach (I know they shoot in Canada, but they didn't even try to hide it for this scene) the good alien tentacles come from out of the water to take Anne away to presumably revive her, and then Pope (who was BLOWN UP last week) shows up to let Tom kill him. That may have been the worst five minutes of the entire show.
I've stuck with this show from the beginning, and this was an extremely disappointing way to end it.

This entire series has plot holes the size of Texas in every season.

Shitty writing and crappy imagination.

I don't know man. You're looking at this from the human point of view. These are aliens and it's not a guarantee that they operate their command structures and important assets the way humans do.

Filler.

This finale is what happens when you waste episodes on pointless bullshite that does not matter and is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. You have to tie up loose ends in the bulk of the season really flesh out the tense conflict of what a series finale is supposed to be.
But then again, I suspect that this crappy season is due to budgets getting smaller and writing talent leaving. Hell, even Spielberg left this series a long time ago.

It was and still is a time waster to me but lately it felt like a chore to watch it. I'm just glad its over.

I was so disgruntled at that finale, I didn't even realize that I was typing finally...in both posts
Thanks for the heads up.
