Reading between the lines, Northwestern players were going to vote down unionizing anyway. NLRB punted so as not to have a precedent just hanging out there, waiting for another school to try it.

The union is the wrong tact anyway. It's a loser for the players. Keep up the lawsuits to bring down the NCAA. It's only just begun. It's really amazing the NCAA is legal when you stop to think about it: it's this giant restraint on trade designed to deprive the labor in an industry of compensation on the grounds its good for them. Good luck with that.

Eventually, the restrictions on selling your autograph and prohibitions on outside compensation are going to get destroyed by the courts.

Who in Natchitoches is buying enough autographs to warrant a union to protect the players?

I guess it's possible, but it's hardly logical.

The only restriction is eligibility with the NCAA itself. Players agree to rules, players either play by rules or are ineligible. At every point, the player can choose to no longer be affiliated with the NCAA and charge for autographs and get endorsement deals.

People like yourself are going to be so excited to be right while the game itself and its fans are screwed. Congrats.
