That 4 was so close, too. The kid is unbelievable.

Gotta wait and see how he does over the last 4 events. I'm gonna go with 2nd as of now. Byron Nelson's 1945 was unreal, but it helped a lot that everyone else was serving in the military.

Can't be that dominant, according to the golf parity thread.

Bobby Jones really doesn't get enough credit for that 1930 year:
- For the British Amateur, Jones had to win 8 consecutive 18-hole match-play contests. Then, he had to play a 36 hole match-play final. He won it 7 and 6.
- Jones then had to win the British Open the week after playing nine matches in the British Amateur.
- He won the U.S. Amateur with two stroke-play qualifying rounds, two 18 hole match-play contests, and three 36 hole match-play contests. He won the finals match 8 and 7.
- To win the U.S. Open, Jones needed to two-putt from 40 feet. Instead, he holed out.
Other interesting tidbits:
In total, Jones won 10 of the last 15 majors he played in (from 1926 to 1930).
Jones held a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech and a B.A. in English Literature from Harvard. After three semesters at Emory Law School, he passed the bar exam.
I could be wrong about this, but I also think Bobby Jones is the only individual to receive two separate ticker-tape parades down Broadway.
Just a plug for a pretty amazing human being.

Well Spieth this year he had the lowest total score under par in all 4 majors ever, even lower than Tiger in 2000. He was unbelievable. Spieth's year this year was the greatest year in golf history. No question.

2nd behind Tiger's 2000 season

are you talking about just majors? Or total season? jordan currently has 2 majors and 4 total wins this year but still has a few more tournaments to play. if he stays with 4 wins, would you consider a 5 win, 2 major season better than his? If so, jordan wouldn't even have a top 10 season.
