For me, I think the fear of screwing up in front of 100,000 people would force me to memorize it like the back of my hand. Even if I have a presentation in front of only 20 people or so, I make sure I know my shite through and through because I don't want to be the center of attention and look like an idiot.

I think that's a generalization. It's also knowing when to check down and why based on the defense. It's about the ability to go through your route progressions without panic (although that is Jennings' biggest weakness). I think there are different blocking packages by the OL, and the QB has to be in sinc with them.
We hear all the time that "the light needs to go on". We saw it with Mett his final year. Let's hope we see it with Harris.....because he has the physical tools.
