Because when you're married, nothing really exciting happens in your life. Then you hang out with your single friend, who can do whatever they want, and you get a little jealous. There's that little voice that says, "I remember doing shite like that. That was a blast. Why can't I do stuff like that now...? It's HER fault I can't."

The other reason, is married people have limited resources to vent/bitch to.

If she does something that you ordinarily wouldn't be over within 5 days, let it slide. That's the key to getting along and getting along is the key to still having fun with your partner.

I see more complaining about marriage from people that aren't married honestly.

Meh. I love my wife. Sure she rides my arse sometimes. Does stupid shite sometimes. Aggravates me sometimes. I'm sure she'd say the same things about me. But at the end of the day I wouldn't trade my marriage for the single life. Although I'm sure plenty of people are miserable in their marriage. These, I would guess, are the people who never expected to have to put effort into their relationship.

Because when we filter through our memories of our single lives, we choose only to remember the good things. We remember that time we hooked up with the hottest chick in the bar, but not the countless nights we wasted on $8 Bud Lights, striking out miserably, and attempting to sober up at 3AM eating crappy food at Waffle House.

We keep this highlight reel in our head and this makes it hard for married/committed life to compare.

Of course, that highlight reel only contains like, 20 hours of material spread out over years of adult single life, so that's not that fair of a comparison...

I love my wife.

I wouldn't trade her for a winning lottery ticket.

Because being single is a lot easier. Do what you want when you want. Don't have any responsibility other than yourself. But yet people still get married and think theirs will be different. I just don't get it. All of my friends are married and all of them are envious of me.....especially during football season!

Get married. You will soon understand and have your own reasons
Mine reasons to bitch:
Our wedding cake contained some strange substance which caused (her) mood swings, weight gain, irrationality, and a sudden urge to abstain from sex more often than not.
But other than that, it's great.

I wouldn't say that's true.

I got out of a 3 1/2 year relationship - not married, but damn near it and the closest thing to it without actually being married - last fall. It took quite a while to get over that mental/emotional hump, but once you do, the world is your oyster.

The last six months have probably been the most fun/best six months of my life so far. If I want to go bar-hopping on a Sunday, I do it. If I want to go to Europe for a week, I do it. If I want to watch football all day Saturday, I do it. There is no one there to stop me.

Of course it's definitely circumstantial, too: I am 28 and live in one of the biggest cities in America, so my options are nearly unlimited. It's probably not quite the same for someone who is older or lives in a small town or whatnot.

Also, Hinge/Tinder/etc have totally changed the game - like, radically, permanently altered it from when I was last single at 24.

I'll get married eventually, but with the right set of circumstances, the single life is incredible. You can into a groove where you feel like you can't lose.

That sucks for all your friends. I'm not envious of any of my single friends. And my wife loves watching football with me, and tailgating, and drinking a lot (more watching me for that one).

Why sigh because you added a word that wasn't there? I get you were just trying to be funny, but that;s the exact kind of crap Ocean and the other kids that frequent these threads do.

Cause it's not against the law to bitch and complain. If you hit her on the other hand, you'll probably spend a night in jail. I'll stick to complaining.
