Kunga had a nice cross to assist on AUFC2's lone goal today. Goslin also had a very nice move in the middle of the field and sent a nice through ball that should have been an assist (the attacker hit it right to the keeper).

Seems like Lynden Gooch is turning the tide at Sunderland. Getting some good minutes lately and good reviews.

Sunderland Echo

The northern Echo

quote:

He was the stand-put performer in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Leeds United, with his tenacious work rate catching the eye. Coleman said: “Lynden Gooch was superb. He’s always had that energy, but now there’s an end product with it. “The options he’s choosing are more and more the right ones, rather than running around with his head down and losing it. He’s got a lot better. “I’ve got to take my hat off to Lynden because all the talk was about Joel Asoro and Josh Maja and I was the one who put him in the team in the first place, so it was probably my own fault. “Lynden then lost his place and he came and had a conversation with me.

quote:

8 GOOCH: Produced an impressive display down the right-hand side, with his drive and energy aiding Sunderland’s attacking threat

16-year-old American Azriel Gonzalez got his first professional goal for Sounders II on Saturday, and it was an 82nd minute game-winner. Jumped on a rebound that trickled to his side of the box. (Another S2 teenager, 15-yr-old Ray Serrano, is in Spain with the U17s.) LINK

Ajax U19s with a big 6-2 win yesterday. Sergino Dest (pictured far right) apparently scored a very impressive long range goal. Can't find a video of it yet, but hopefully something will pop up later today. Dest has done very well since he moved from the Ajax U17s to the Ajax U19s LINK

I'm hearing the U.S. U17s beat India 1-0 today in the first of four friendlies in Spain this week. Bit of a new look lineup compared to the Nike Friendlies in December. Diego Lopez (@ATLUTD) was the goalscorer. Assisted by Jack Imperato (@DeAnzaForce) off the bench.

Starting XI: GK Aaron Cervantes, John Tolkin, Tayvon Gray, Kobe Hernandez, Michael Barragan, Peter Stroud, Gilbert Fuentes, Cesar Garcia, Joshua Pynadath, Ray Serrano, (C) Diego Lopez. Substitutes: Jack Imperato and Adam Armour

Got a detailed first-hand report from the U.S. U17s 2-0 win over Norway this morning in Spain.

More of a first-choice starting XI, from what I can gather: GK D. Las, G. Bello, M. Judge, A. Alejandre, J. Scally, L. Flores, A. Saldana, G. Busio, A. Jasson, B. Redzic, (C) G. Reyna.

Goals from Adam Saldana (@_RealSoCal) and Gianluca Busio (@SportingKC). For our correspondent, Saldana was man of the match as a two-way midfielder. Gio Reyna (@NYCFC) started as the No. 9 (ha!), and also played well drifting wide to either side.
