re: What happened to Jordan Jefferson over the course of his career

quote:I'm not a Lee hater, but Lee's RSSoph year was worse than his RSFresh year. That's not really disputable. He wasn't a pick-six machine, but his stats were terrible.
Take away Lee's fresh year and there isn't a whole lot to bitch about.
It really weakens his haters gripe about the guy.
quote:This is just another Jefferson myth. Jefferson, like all LSU QBs under Miles, got better almost every year.
JJ was a player that regressed while he was at LSU. On and off the field .
That's most LSU fans biggest disdain with him.
SEC Regular Season Games
quote:
I sat by JJ at a road game couple years ago. He loves LSU and for the most part prob did the best he could at the time.
Luckily most of us don't know what's it like to be qb at big time college program.

quote:It was Lee's RSFr year, but I agree. It's tough to lead an SEC team in your second year.
Lee wasn't ready his freshman year, he got dicked over by perriloux.

No one hates Lee like they hate Jefferson

Simple true or false question here.
JJ best year at LSU was his soph season?
JL best year at LSU was his SR season?
I saw improvement throughout Lees career.
I saw decline in JJ's.
If you say false, I honestly don't know what to tell you. We must have been watching different teams.

It's not as simple as you would make it seem. Jarrett Lee hardly played in 2009 (except for an atrocious game against La Tech) or in 2010... and Jefferson sat out for all but a few snaps for the first 8 games of 2011.
You'd have a solid argument to say that Jefferson was a better quarterback in 2009 than he was in 2011... but I don't know that it's really clear that he would have performed any better against Georgia or Alabama in either case.

FALSE - His best season was his SR season.

TRUE - His best season was his SR season.
Both Lee and Jefferson benefited an extra year's experience and even more from Kragthorpe's tutelage.
quote::sigh: You're not alone. Many fans' opinions of Jefferson are colored by the loss in the BCSCG. It left a bad taste in a lot of folks' mouths for a long time. That's the Recency Effect.
If you say false, I honestly don't know what to tell you. We must have been watching different teams.
However, the facts are clear. Jefferson's best year was clearly his SR year. His development was probably hampered by missing so much time while he was suspended. However, his regular season stats for his SR year far surpass his stats for his prior three years, and it's not even close.
COMP % = 64.29%
YPA = 9.34
5 TDs and 1 INT (INT% 1.43%)
QB Rating = 163.48

Sure it is.
LSU loses to tenn and fla without lee's individual effort in 2010.
We all saw how he performed in 2011.
JJ on the other hand doesn't really have anything to hang his hat on.
This guy sal is quick to point out top 5 defenses that JJ finished his career with for a reason he played so poorly, yet he prob gives him credit for padding stats against an ole miss team we beat by 50.
They were terrible.
I just saw a qb that was better when he finished than when he started in Lee.
JJ's shining moment was the first half of the peach bowl vs ga tech.

quote:Ole Miss was not a good team, but Ole Miss was an SEC team, and Ole Miss was NOT the worst team LSU played in 2011. In fact, Lee started against the worst team as well as 4 of the 5 worst teams LSU played in 2011. And yet EVERY game that Jefferson started in the 2011 regular season was BETTER than EVERY game that Lee started in the 2011 regular season. LSU's three best total offensive performances happened when Jefferson was the starting QB.

Not at all true. Jefferson had MUCH better stats against 2011 Arkansas (#3 ranked team) than he did against Georgia Tech.
Like Lee, Jefferson also got much better with Kragthorpe's coaching.

Jeffersons shining moment was the GOTC and it's not even close. He played very well in the 2010 Cotton bowl and the 2011 Arkansas game, but he was a freakin hero for saving us in the GOTC.
I was at that game, and the feeling leaving the stadium was that he had just clenched us a championship.
Side note:
Lee was clutch as frick off the bench several times in his career too. 2010 Florida definitely stands out.

Spin the Lee story how you want, but he finished behind JJ in pretty much every career stat. Close in some stats, but still behind.
.

JJ's shining moment was the first half of the peach bowl vs ga tec-h.
I can't believe I'm responding to this stale retarded subject

I felt certain he started for 8 or 9 years, maybe even 10. It finally just became too big of a sick joke to keep up with.

LSU loses to UT without Derek Dooley's incompetence and pure power of will from Stevan Ridley... and loses to Florida without a fake FG conversion. Trying to give Lee sole credit for those wins discredits the other players on the team and some extraordinary circumstances.

Padding stats? He threw 7 passes against that Ole Miss team. Compare that to the 10 that Jarrett Lee threw against an FCS team.

You must not remember the clutch throws he made that last drive.
Not to mention the 4th and long throw.
Without that Ridley doesn't even get a chance.
So it was Miles fault now it's Dooleys?
Your post is made of straw.
It's ok though, people remember and see what they choose to.

You're a fricking idiot.
Without Jefferson's 83 yard run on the opening drive, we don't score a single touchdown in that game.

Ok, sucks it was all downhill after that to point he was replaced.
And I'm the idiot?
Without Lee we lose in that game.
DWI hoss.

We needed both to win that game, and a few others.
IMAGINE THAT. Two guys on the same team working to help their team win. Funny stuff.

Jefferson was replaced after throwing an interception in the first quarter... Lee led 4 drives and scored no points prior to the last drive of the game.

You say that like the left gaurd needs the center to help win.
Qbs on majority of organized football teams in America don't need two of them to help win.
I get what you are saying, but fact is reason Lee played was because Jeff wasn't getting it done.
Period.
