I seriously know people who have Ipads/phones that are "for" their 3 year old.
I'll probably buy a new iPad for my wife this Christmas and give my daughter, who will be 2.5, our old iPad
doesn't mean I won't still limit her time with it, just means we now don't have to waste space on ours for all of her videos/games

Brown Bear, Little Blue Truck...
I could go on.

It's no different than sitting in front of a TV all day. It's the way they will watch their content. Watch how much TV's fall in the future with this generation.

I think it's like almost anything. You'll make mistakes, but dammit you better learn from them and apply it as best you can to other situations. There's lots of right and even more wrong ways to do things. No parent can completely avoid the latter.
there's also no handbook to parenting.
As much as you say and think you're going to raise your kids, it doesnt always turn out the way you planned.

So you are going to tell me how prepared I am to be a parent?
you dont have kids so you dont know if you're prepared or not..there is no way of knowing.

My 3 year old and 5 year old both have their own, that doesn't mean I can't limit what they do and how much time they spend on it.

Soon to be 4 year HATED riding in cars. I gave him an iphone when he was 11 months old and he figured out my netflix app in about 10 minutes. We have tried to monitor it ever since, but it got to the point that it was all he wanted. We are on our 3rd week of no TV,ipad, and iphone and I see a lot of life back in his eyes. Before it was like a glaze over them that made him look so disconnected. Plan is to give it back to him in the future and limit it to 30-45 minutes a day where we play with him.
FTR taking these away from a kid that plays with them everyday is like taking a crackheads last rock. Not a good time, but now he wants to be outside every second of the day.

Letting your kid drink an entire beer is trashy. They make ponies for a reason people.

It's what they do until they are 14 and mommy lets them do offshore fishing, alone.

We've never really let our 2 1/2 year old daughter play with them much. We are always commended on how well our daughter speaks, and the last Dr visit the Doc asked my wife if we let her use an ipad, etc. Wife told her no not really and she said that is one of the reasons why she speaks so well, that and the fact that we read to her every night....take it for what it is.
