Spurs barely over Bulls.

Anemic stats built during a weaker era.
Pooh-pooh.
Pooh-pooh.

except the majority of the lakers championships come from an NBA that includes the spurs. woh

I said: pooh-pooh, sir.

It's the MSB, neutrality be damned.

quote:I agree with you. I'm saying the how much of a 2-team league it is in terms of greatness cannot be overstated. Celtics and Lakers each had 3 totally different dynasties decades apart. The number 3 franchise only has 1.

Yep, Celtics and Lakers are clearly 1 and 2, with the Lakers in front. Brad Stevens will put the Celtics in front in a couple of years though.

yea, thats what i was pointing out. not the dynasty portion that you mentioned, but just the pure distance between the celtics and lakers and everyone else
Posted on 7/20/15 at 10:25 pm to Sellecks Moustache
it will take the celtics to at least have a three title difference between the lakers to be the #1 franchise considering all of the other advantages the lakers have

It's happening, I just hope you handle it with class and grace.
Posted on 7/20/15 at 10:28 pm to Sellecks Moustache

While I wouldn't say they're the 3rd greatest franchis, I do believe the Warriors should be in the discussion. While the Cohan years really left a black mark on their record, they do have 2517 wins - 4 champions including the inaugural one - 7 conference championships.

I have to go Spurs then Philly

I think I'd take Philly over the Spurs or Bulls. The Bulls and Spurs have both had a really, REALLY good run in their existence but neither has had multiple runs of being great. What I mean by that is you can explain the Bulls run with one name, you can explain the Spurs run with one name. With Philly you've got the Wilt Chamberlain era and then the Dr. J era, on top of that they've had NBA greats like Barkley, Iverson, and Moses Malone.
