In-Law Advice Needed

Received an email today from my MIL informing me of her remaining summer travel schedule. Each summer my in-laws, who I loathe, travel around and visit each of their children. They have 2, but you would think they are planning Queen Elizabeth's summer tour. The dates that they have chosen to visit my family are September 4-11. See where this is going?? The first Saturday of college football is a high-holy day for me. I do nothing besides watch football and I certainly don't want to put up with their snobby, petty, judgmental, critical, crusty asses on one of my favorite days of the year.
I promptly responded, thanks, but that date isn't going to work for us - we're busy.
So tonight she gets drunk, calls my husband (yes, I'm a girl) crying saying she hasn't been feeling well and that she's afraid that this is her last visit ever and they need to visit that weekend. I still said nope. There are 7 weeks bt now and 9/4, plenty of other days to visit. I also suggested that my husband take the kids and go visit them (my kids aren't speaking to me now).
Been dealing with these a holes for over 20 years and I'm just tired of their BS.
So anybody out there think I should cave and let them visit??

How far away do they live?
CFB is king but you'll feel like a total dick if she really does die.

If she is really sick and this may be her last visit then the earlier the better, right? It sounds like she would be happy to come sooner but since she isn't that goes to show she is just lying and playing her son. I love that you stuck to your answer. Is your husband upset? Is he a big momma's boy? Why are your kids so upset? Are they still at that age where grandparents are the best thing in the world?

Holy shite. This is one of the most selfish things I have ever heard of.
And I am a self admitted a-hole. It is football, get over it for one weekend.

Cheat on your husband with the BBC.

I have never enjoyed being near a single woman during football. Even the coolest ones are annoying as hell during a game.

The MIL will understand, she's done it before too.

My kids are mad because I suggested a they go visit them for a week. It takes me weeks to repair my children's self-esteem after their grandparents visit.
The last time they were here my husband had to be out of town for work for 4 days of their visit (um-hmm) I wore out his credit card for those 4 days, btw.
They just aren't very nice people...

They say men tend to marry their mothers.
So there is that.

I think you're being a C U Next Tuesday myself.
I bet you wouldn't be such a bitch if it was your family visting.
It's just football and family is way more important than that but I don't expect a Gump to grasp that concept.
I hope your husband leaves you for a younger piece of trim and menopause makes you undesirable to any other man.

GD you seem miserable. Your husband probably needed a break from you.

happy to come sooner but since she isnt
Exactly my point. I have never one time asked them to switch a time that they have visited. Neither of them work, she wouldn't give me a reason she couldn't come a few days later.
I don't think she is doing this bc of football. She's doing it bc last year they came after school started and with 3 teenagers that was difficult; I asked them last year to plan on coming this year before school started.
