Looking to put in a some home theater equipment in a new house I am purchasing. Anyone have any suggestions? I have contacted a Acadian and Integrated and waiting on quotes. Nothing fancy just a multi zone for living area, kitchen and patio area.
in advance

Not Acadian. I can not begin to tell you how badly they fricked up my sisters house. Like $250,000 spent and years later they still have shite that doesn't work right.

Do it yourself. Sonos and in wall speakers.
I would love to know what cost $250k. I may be in the wrong profession.

Guy from Acadian called me back. He said I would need to spend $1000 on a wireless network for my house to make their shite work. I laughed at him.

Depending on the complexity of the system and the level of control $250k is not out of the question.

im in the TV business and most of my accounts also do A/V
i ask myself all the time "why didnt i get in this business". for most the key is landing that first BIG account and then its all referrals. they tell their country club friends or their teammates and it rolls in.
one of my accounts landed Tyron Smith from the Cowboys and a year later has done 4 of their OL. lol
he said average system was 40k(he makes about 40% profit per job).

Yeah, I figured as much, and some of the components can be really expensive. I'd love to see a breakdown of an invoice.
I'm sure high end speakers and amplifiers are involved

Thats a hell of a markup on some signal boosters, or you just have a gigantic house.

I'm interested in these responses, but I only need an installer. Any recommendations?

Are you saying you want to provide the equipment and have someone do all of the installation and programming? I don't know of a reputable company up here that would consider a situation like that.

We didn't get that far. As soon as he said $1000 for the wireless network I cut him off. I explained to him I would have an ASUS AC 2400 with ASUS dual band range extenders throughout the house with a SB6141 modem. He said that was insufficient for the equipment he would install. The guys at Magnolia inside bestbuy have been the most sensible to me so far. I am leaning with going with them.

Frightening that those are the best you've come across. What exactly are you looking to have done?

I want a multi zone system with 3 zones max. Total of 8 in ceiling speakers with a subwoofer. I have a 4K 60" samsung for my living room and purchased my subwoofer. Looking to put 2 ceiling speakers outside for mainly listing to LSU games while cooking/entertaining. My budget is 5K. I am not a handyman so I don't want to cut holes in my ceilings.

Independent zones or will they always play the same source?

So it sounds like you most likely want three zones that can play all the same audio, but also be independent. Are the speakers already installed? I am just asking because you said you are not a handyman.
Anyway...
LR - Sounds like you have 4 speakers and sub for here already. Buy a center channel, any receiver between $300-$500 with HDMI. Connect all speakers to receiver. Buy an additional Sonos Connect ($350) and connect it to the receiver via audio out into the receiver. Also connect secondary audio out from receiver into Sonos (Allows audio to be played from Sonos to receiver speakers and for audio from receiver (cable, bluray, etc) to be played through Sonos.
Additional Speakers:
Kitchen - 2 Speakers
Outside - 2 Speakers
Buy Sonos Connect with Amp for each zone. ($500 each)
Everything should be correct. I've never connected the secondary audio output from a receiver back into Sonos, but I am looking at doing this for football this fall so my Uverse sound can be played through all the Sonos Zones.
Everything I just quoted at full retail price would be under $2500. And you can definitely get some of these components cheaper on Amazon or eBay.
<<<<<@gmail.com if you want more specifics you'd rather not list on TD.
