Never followed college sports....but was a huge saints fan. My older brother had always been a Tigers fan. Well when I was about 22-23 years old we rented a house together for a year. That was when Shaq and C Jackson was playing basketball at LSU. And when they were on, which was a lot, we HAD to watch. So thats how I became a fan

See my sig pic.
I didn't actually attend my first game (that I remember) until '91, but I remember sitting down with my dad while he watched an episode of Inside LSU Football from 1990 that was recapping the whole season. He pointed out #49 and said, "Watch this guy...name's Todd Kinchen." I became obsessed with all things LSU, and Todd is still my favorite Tiger of all time.

1967 or so.
My parents did not attend college, so I had no LSU ties. I first became a fan watching the Charlie McClendon show on Sunday mornings with game highlights. Art Cantrelle, Andy Hamilton, Tommy Casanova, etc.
My favorite early name from those highlights? Maurice LeBlanc ... because it sounded Cajun. And I believe sometimes John Ferguson referred to him as "T-Maurice."

October 25, 1969. LSU-Auburn
Although My Dad had regaled with LSU stories before that, it was the Auburn game for me...
My Dad and I drove up Airline Hwy from Kenner to
Laplace to pick up the State Trooper's (who had supplied my Dad the tickets) son. We drove past the Snake Farm, Roussell's, Hoppers, Bluebirds, etc.
I remember we sat in the SEZ because the ramp we went up was on the side of the long poles, not the Roman arches. We sat right behind the goal posts and the SEZ was painted orange with big blue "A U" letters.
I remember on the first play, Jimmy Gilbert threw a halfbacl option pass for a TD to Andy Hamilton right in front of us.
My 6 year old ears and eyes were in awe of the whole experience. The noise of the first TD and of Bill Thomason and George Bevan's blocked Auburn extra point were incredible.
Still have the program. I showed it off when I was an LSU student from '81-'85...

Both Parents, all four grandparents, and at least 1 great-grandparent went to LSU (I've got my great-grandfathers Class of 1919 LSU Ring).
I guess the 2000 football season was what sealed the deal as to me attending LSU (my junior year in high school), but really that die was cast long before it actually came time for me to pick a school.

When I was 10 or so Dad went to LSU executive MBA program and brought me back a shirt. Always liked LSU even growing up in Texas. Went to LSU after screwing up first semester in college and after going a year at USL and getting grades up.

Born in Shreveport and I was an LSU fan because I thought everyone in Louisiana was LSU fan! Was in HS during Hallman years and still a fan, but I adopted Florida St during big games and bowl season. Haven't live in Louisiana since 1991, but my connection with LSU became stronger because they were representation of my home state. I guess I became a "die hard" when DiNardo got there.

Dad was an ole miss fan, moved to Hattiesburg and after my tournament ball games we could pick up the glorious mid-90s gorilla ball games on the radio and I was hooked after that and got my dad hooked about a year after.

First game was with my dad on a cold afternoon in tiger stadium against Notre Dame. (1997)
My grandfather was also an LSU grad.
That 1st gameday experience hooked me for life.
GEAUX TIGERS!

born in Alek. military brat. Dad is a Ga native and huge UGA fan. i loved Herschel but was always drawn to lsu. Mom's family all La natives and i have family alum. i think pops thought my lsu "phase" was just that. we didnt have cable in the early 80's. when dad walked in on me listening to lsu/miss st. in 85, i could no longer hide who i was. although he doesnt agree with my lifestyle, he's been loving and supportive. i even got him to don P&G at the 2012 Chick fil a bowl.

Third generation LSU grad. Five of my parents six kids have LSU diplomas. We seldom speak of number six but tip him well when he delivers our pizzas in under 30 minutes. FAMILY
