The first I have heard of this. Seems like it could be good. I am not familiar with the story.

There have been multiple books written about this subject and there was a movie made from one of the earlier books.
Although I don't recall the name of the movie, it was made in the 50s.
This is an interesting story.
As a cousin to Newt I have heard stories about him most of my life. My grandfather has every book written about the guy and Newt was a tough, complicated guy. I'm extremely interested how they make him out to be. Some of the books contradict how Newt was. I'm sure Hollywood will tell the most "profitable" story about him.

I wonder if they will have to digitally remove any confederate flags that appear in the film.

It was amazing what the did to the town of Clinton during filming... They rebuilt the facades of all of the Main St buildings and covered the streets with dirt. It looked fantastic and will be interesting to see on film. I suppose they will digitally remove all of the utility lines and such.
