I've always thought poor souls like you deserve a special commendation from LSU.

chad had the mentality, dedication and smarts to run any offense, lack of athleticism would have been overshadowed by the former
I have to disagree a bit here. Loup wasn't going to be a wishbone QB but he was plenty athletic enough.

Jamie had the all pro cannon but the mentality of a 18 yr old immature kid, was not really a student of the game and him & hallman did not like each other
I will have to ask about this but it doesn't sound right. I know the upper classmen were pissed that Hallman basically handed the job to Howard. ( At that time it could have been pressure from outside the program )

loup commanded the respect of the O including the line, howard did not.
This is absolutely true, the team as a whole respected and supported Loup.

if not for the AU game that season and CH career at LSU would have gone very different
I don't know if I would go that far. Their were a lot of things going on behind the scenes that a lot don't know. Most have heard about Curly banging his secretary but most don't know he was messing with some coeds also. Even if some of the breaks would have went LSU's way I still think he would have failed.

The fact that I was able to sack him in 7th grade probably says otherwise.

he was a multi tasker...

Don't really disagree w/anything you said, but I don't understand the "if then" in your last paragraph.
What would have gone differently? Curley Hallmans career? LSU football in general?
What caused the change? The Auburn game? Or did Curleys career cause (amongst other bad things) cause shite "down the road?"

What were curley's methods?
Didn't he have them do three a days in the summer?

Howard. He wasn't calling the plays against Auburn.
BTW, based on what we've seen so far, any of the Hallman QB's would be an improvement........

the AU game was the water shed moment in CH's career in BR. at really no point in ch's time did LSU have the talent to compete in the SEC sans '94. '94 was different and the team felt it. there was speed, enough talent to win and most importantly, PB was the new DC. PB was/is a damn good fb coach, and he had the D playing aggressive, fast and confident fb. the team felt it. we played atm tough, ranked in top 20 I believe and pretty much dominated msu. CH and PB saved all motivational speeches their entire career for this one game...the team was ready to kill someone...kind of the same feeling when we beat uga in '03.
if we had won that game, I have every confidence we would have won 7 maybe 8 games, just on our D alone. CH would have kept his job and con't to recruit...which he and staff did very well. well, we all know what happened, the team fell apart, jh lost all confidence and it was all downhill. it was very demoralizing to say the least.
people laugh when I tell them that, but ch could've had a little nicer career here if not for that one game.

Hudson was a fricking disaster all the way around. Outside of him standing up to Dale Brown the night Shaq slapped Anthony Marshall (basketball/football dorm brawl), he wasnt worth a damn.
on topic: Chad Loup all day long........oh, and frick George Haffner.

Aside from Joe Dean being a cheap arse, there was this perception that Curley made Brett Farve. What everyone quickly learned (other than Hallman) was that Farve actually made Hallman.
As to the Auburn game, I still remember Phil Bennett going ballistic on Hallman on the interceptions. There was a point on the sidelines that he exploded on Hallman and his lips could easily be read ("What the frick are you doing?")
Yeah, Bennett was and is a good coach.
Haffner on the other hand, hell Georgia broke out the best wine, cheese, and cavier when he left.

The 1992 season was similar not saying ya"ll were close to winning the SEC but no way hell that team should have been 2-9. The Auburn game was the turning point IMO.
