This thread really does need to die though. I've acted the arse more times than I'd like too.
I apologize for being an obnoxious coonass southeasttiger.

I got most of those stats from the 2014 LSU Season Preview... only place online that I know to find LSU Career Record Holders... but the print is too damn small on a cell phone.

quote:Didn't I already ask you to name 3 QB's at LSU who were rushing QB's and you couldn't? Who gives a frick if it's the LSU single season record, Nick Marshall rushed for 1000 yards last year. Most good rushing QB's rush for 600+ yards and most great ones rush for 800+
You mean the season he set the lsu single season qb rushing record, right? You are digging your own grave
quote:We've already covered that the game wasn't the same until recently. Every single multi-year-starting LSU quarterback from 1980-2009 was on that list. Do you not see that it might favor modern QB's? He's 8th out of around 10 participants
You act like 58 is bad. In over 120 years only 5 lsu qbs have better career compl%.
You're making yourself look stupid by talkinh shite about some of the best #'s ever by a lsu qb. How do you not see this?
quote:No, he gets hate because he was hard as frick to watch and he was a shite quarterback
Ask any lsu fan if they would take a 4 year qb that finished top 6 in every major passing statistic in lsu history every single one would say yes. The reason he gets hate is because of 1/9.
quote:yea whip out your imaginary E-dick to overcompensate for the fact that you're a grown man who's obsessed with proving people wrong about a bad LSU quarterback on a message board. I'm sure you're doing big things with your life
so stating facts about a qb career is creepy? The money you make in a year I have in my pocket lil guy

You should try a Screensaver pic and then zoom in. I'll give a couple great links for team stats and player stats.
this one is decent
this one goes into real depth and is my go to for team stats
this one is great for individual stats. it has lots of splits and every game log

You would think the Admins would have stepped in by now.
In any event, neither Lee or Jefferson was a QB that could take over a game like Jamarcus Russell or Zach Mettenberger, they weren't even game managers like Matt Flynn or Matt Mauck..
Jordan Jefferson......... 127.8 QBR 397/678 58.7% 6.98 ypa 4733 yards 34 TD
Jarrett Lee.................. 126.1 QBR 317/565 56.1% 6.99 ypa 3949 yards 32 TD
But if we can get Jennings or Harris to play at that level in 2015, we're going to the playoffs based on what we return on defense and in the running game.
When you look at the QBR that Jennings posted in our losses last year, had he been able to play at the level that Jefferson and Lee did throughout their careers, we likely would have at least won the SEC West at 10-2, and beaten Mizzou in Atlanta... and probably left the SEC out of the inaugural playoff picture.

I assure you 95% of LSU fans will remember that JJ got suspended and played like crap aagainst Bama more than he finished in the top 6 in those catagories....

It's over. We all lost. There are no winners in this thread.

For the record, I remain unbeaten and unbowed.

Will they remember that we don't go undefeated in the SEC, win the west, win the SEC, or perhaps don't even get to the BCSCG without his efforts vs. Bama in the Nov. game of 2011?
We can hate on JJ all we want, some LSU fans are real good at eating their own, but no rational fan can believe JL wins the Nov. game.
It was LSU's ability to get yardage around the corners on O. and a great D effort that won that game. imo

are you really that stupid? It takes a hell of a lot more than just good QB play. It takes good offense, defense, and coaching as well as a bit of luck all combined to win the NC,.

Hence, he basically threw in the towel. Can anyone say JL would have saved it? Of course not. JL was a very limited QB.
But, good old Bama was not exactly surprised at the JJ outside runs that time. Frankly, the fact that Miles even THOUGHT that shite was going to work twice is mind boggling. But hey. OK. He thought it.
After a half, he fricking KNEW he was wrong. And gave up.

The only scheme to put up offense against bama was the option.

It pretty fricking clearly did NOT..........and he did NOTHING.
quote:OK. So, everyone accepts this premise that no f'n way JL ever recovers in the November game, but a guy who couldn't get past the 50 yard line and whose ONE frickING PLAY HE WAS USEFUL at wasn't working might have recovered on 1-9.
I wouldn't go that far. The score was 12-0 until the last 20 seconds of the 3rd quarter
Look. I recognize that even though I disagree with arguments in favor of JJ starting, the reality is, it isn't as if JL was Peyton Manning in the wings.
But damn, to spend the entire 2nd half not trying was just fricking indefensible and leaving in JJ for the 2nd half was absolutely NOT trying. Miles threw in the towel that day. It was mind-boggling.

I agree with this. Choosing to run the option wasn't a bad idea to begin the game with , but by the middle of the 3rd quarter you have to try something new.

Look, the coaching staff had NO answers to Bama on that night. Bama was ready and LSU wasn't. Bottom line.
QB hadn't won any games in 2011 and they were not going to win the BCSCG. We won with D., special team play, T/Os, and a rush game averaging 220 yds a game.
Did JJ play badly? Yes, but other than for the D, what element of the LSU team performed as they had all season?
We can blame the results on JJ or the coaching as much as we want, but I don't think there was a team in college football in 2011 who was going to be able to beat Bama twice.
My only point in the post you were responding to was to express that crapping on JJ for his part in the 1-9 game without noting his part in the LSU comeback win in the Nov. game, a game that was damn important to the SEC season and nationally, is more that a little head in the sand. imo
