Places putting too much ice in your drink

Therefore, only allowing you a few sips before the whole thing is gone. It's becoming an epidemic. An aggravating one.

It's pretty uniform across nicer cocktail bars I find. They measure out the ingredients to their standards and just top off with ice.

I hate it when I don't get enough ice in my tea and it gets hot.

While it is aggravating in restaurants, it is especially frustrating at takeout places. For example, I picked up an iced chai this morning. Packed with ice. I really wanted to turn around and tell them to make it again but I didn't want to be rude either. I tell myself I'll just say light on ice next time. I'll probably forget.
Think I got 4 sips out of it.

Chick-fil-a always does this.

That's standard operating procedure for a good bartender. The more ice you put in a drink, the colder it stays and the less the ice melts. If you only put a few cubes in a drink, they melt fast and you get a watery drink.
As long as you're getting your proper amount of alcohol and mixer, lad it up with ice.
Now, to go cups at food places is a different story. Just ask for no ice.

Bistro Byronz is the WORST.
I never eat there, but Cane's stands out in my memory for this reason as well. Also Sonic.
Basically, anywhere with that little pebble ice.

You're right. It is a problem at Cane's.
Posted on 7/8/15 at 9:07 am to Winkface
It's not a problem. You weirdos can ask for "light ice." Americans like motorboat and I like ice. Lots of ice.
Posted on 7/8/15 at 9:07 am to Winkface
I get more pissed when they give you practically no ice.

ice waters down the taste of the drink, unless im drinking iced tea where it comes out hot, i usually dont get but a few cubes in my drink.

If I'm getting a coke with a Cane's meal there is no issue with watering down. It's gone in 12 minutes.
We are talking about soft drinks right?
