How small is this list with a realistic shot?

Id like to know more about the teams that could compete.

From the b1g it seems like only Ohio State could realistically make it.

What teams would u place a wager on and why?

Ohio State

Because that's the only reason you started this thread

Realistically?

Osu from big10
TCU from big 12
Fsu from ACc
Oregon from pac 12

About 8 teams from the SEC.

Fsu from ACc
Can't figure these guys out. They ranked 54th in scoring defense and 64th in total defense. Their defense was shite. And they lose Darby, PJ, Edwards, and Goldson. And what, 5 offensive linemen to the draft...? And Winston, and Green. I mean, they should suck arse right? They do have the single easiest schedule I've ever seen in my life though. I could see them making the playoff MAYBE, but looking at it right now, I have no clue how they'd win 2 playoff games.

Right now, I see the real contenders being OSU, whatever team comes out of the SEC, and maybe TCU?

Auburn usually falls way short when they have high expectations headed into the season. They have Boom back at D coordinator so they should be better but still... they'll probably lose a few games they shouldn't.

Alabama should have a stout front seven on D as usual.... one year rental at QB with Coker probably... inexperienced WR's too. But a beast at RB with Henry.

LSU has a lot of talent on defense... but what about the QB?

Outside of the SEC teams, OSU, TCU, FSU...

Michigan State could be pretty tough

USC if they stay healthy

Notre Dame probably won't have the QB play but could be pretty tough. I don't have a lot of faith in the coaching staff, but the offensive line will be one of the best in the country. That's worth something.

A team that comes out of nowhere. It's like that every year.

Wasn't there a string of 5 or so years where the champion won it with a first year starting QB?
