I know Aminu played better in Dallas, and would fit Gentry's system better than Monty's, but I'd rather Dudley of Gerald Green with the MLE.
I wish we could afford Danny Green, but I'm guessing he is going to get around $8-$10mil/year from some team

Can we not do a sign and trade with SAS and give them Asik for Danny Green?
then get an MLE center.

You're forgetting about Tiago Splitter who the Spurs are possibly looking to dump to make room for Aldridge.

That's assuming Dudley or Gerald Green decide to come here. They may have 0 interest in playing here.

Well, obviously. I would think that would go without having to be said, but I guess not...

my bad.
i thought he was a free agent and they were weighing the option to sign him or let him walk.
i've looked and there are very few suitors that would be willing to have Asik as their starting center, and the few that need one, don't have anything worth a shite to give back to us.

What about Richard Jefferson?
He's been shooting the 3 ball pretty well last few years of his aging career.
He still has a hop in this step when he needs it once a week.
I'd love to have him, and he's cheap, but doubt he'd express interest in us. He'd play well in an uptempo offense.

I'd feel better with anyone besides Asik. He just doesn't feel like he's worth that amount of money. Let someone else pay him that much. Aminu on the other hand id take, I think he still has a lot to offer as a bench player

like what, hit the shot clock with his moon ball jump shots?
or did you like his 1 good defensive game out of every 10 games we played?
Cunningham is leaps and bounds better than Aminu.
Posted on 6/30/15 at 3:37 pm to TeddyPadillac
How is he leaps and bounds better?
Aminu = better rebounder, defender, dunker, dribbler, passer (his dribbling and passing increased tremendously when he played POINT GUARD for Nigeria)
Cunningham = better jump shot
In what aspect besides his jump shot (which Aminu won't be needing much anyways) is Cunningham better than Aminu? Please enlighten us all.
ETA - Richard Jefferson now I know you don't know shite about basketball

Uh. Dude looks like a new born giraffe. He's never been some great dribbler unless he's just changed drastically in the past year.
Posted on 6/30/15 at 3:41 pm to Fun Bunch
Since he took on the role of Point Guard, his dribbling has become much smoother. Definitely better than Cunningham's dribbling.

he brings it every night. most important factor. and he does things that don't show up in the stat book, and you'd know that if you watched the majority of the games this year.
Aminu is a better rebounder when he wants to be by a slight margin, problem is we saw lack of effort a lot with him.
Aminu is not a better defender at all.
he's no better at dunking, not sure why that matters anyway.
neither need to dribble or be a good passer.
I know what i'm getting from DC every night.
I don't know what Aminu i'm getting every night, and besides that, at his best, he's still not good.

Yeah, screw the guy making less than $1.5 million a year that has shot over 40% from 3 the last 5 seasons.

Simply false.
Aminu per 36 - 1.8 steals/ 1.6 blocks
Dante per 36 - 1.0 steals/ .8 blocks
So basically twice as good at defense.

He is absolutely better at dunking. Why does it matter? Maybe this thing called fast breaks. You might have seen a couple with AD doing this thing called an alley oop. Yeah, Aminu was unstoppable at it while I've seen Dante miss almost every oop thrown his way.

Ha what? Your in the fricking NBA, everyone needs to know how to dribble and pass. Even Asik knows how to pass the ball pretty well. (Catching it and dribbling are his flaws) You are trying to say you don't need to know how to dribble or pass if you are a 3-4 in the NBA? Get the frick outta here boy.

4/17/13 @DAL 16 points 20 rebounds
4/26/15 vs HOU 16 points 12 rebounds (playoff game)
I mean, the dude averaged over 11 ppg and 7 rpg in the playoffs. When has Dante EVER achieved those numbers.

I have gone/watched almost every game in the past 8 years so please don't say shite like this. You sound like a moron.

If we have $10 mil to spend, and our options are Tobias or Omer we better go Tobias

Harris is getting paid more than that.

We don't. We have Bird Rights for Asik which gives us the ability to exceed the cap to resign him. We do not have $10 million in cap space, we have effectively $0 in cap space.

I guess John Stockton is the best defender ever since he has all those steals.
This rational is just completely pointless.

Not sure where you've seen Dante miss alley oops, much less all of them. Aminu is the better dunker, but i'm perfectly fine with Dante's finishing capabilities on the fast break.

All i'm saying is neither of them, on this team, will be asked to handle the ball much at all, so it really doesn't matter b/c both are capable of dribbling and passing at an acceptable level.

Starting lineup for the last game of the year on a 25 win team, that lost this game
Ryno
Aminu
RLopez
Roberts
EG
with Amundson, Henry and Roger Mason Jr. holding down the bench.
Shawn Marion, who Aminu would have gaurded, had 15 points that game on 7-12 shooting. Great defense there Aminu.

Aminu averages 6 points and 5 rebounds a game. Him showing that he can grab double digit rebounds is what pissed me off b/c he'd do it once in a blue moon. Give some effort and do it more often.

and they lost 4 games to 1.
We don't need Dante to score 11 and 7. THat's not what he is here for. He's a guy that will bring hustle and do all the little things necessary to help his teammates succeed, and he's good at it.
How many times have you heard someone bitch about DC this year?
How many times did people bitch about Aminu while he was here?
