No, but the events would be incredibly lame.
Straight Pride: "Hooray for me, I make babies, slithering my pathetic genes into the next generation's gene pool."
White History: "Hooray for my race, we almost conquered the whole world with only likker, gun powder and syphilis."
Agreed. But is a gay pride or black history month any less lame? Do either of those groups have anything more to celebrate than the ones you mentioned?

White history is every month. Have you ever sat in an American history class? The whites made this great nation. Indians were a violent nuisance and slavery wasn't as bad as blacks make it out to be.

(Edit to add this caveat: YES, I am gay, YES i live San Francisco. I have also been gay when i lived in Kaplan, Ruston, Baton Rouge, Dallas, and Sacramento. Gay folks are everywhere and not everyone in San Francisco is gay. Or a millionaire ;) )
I imagine Gay pride will fade away over time.
Do you know why gay pride started? Because gay folks were tired of police "raiding" their bars and arresting them. (Google StoneWall Inn Riots)
But also...
do you remember that time when your parents, family or friends disowned you for being straight?
do you remember that time when you got fired for being straight?
do you remember that time when the fear of asking someone out might be risking your life?
do you remember that time when you could get married without having to ask your local, state, or federal government if it was ok?
do you remember when there were no straight people on tv or in ads and you thought you were the only person who felt that way?
So yeah, that's why Gay Pride exists...a natural reaction to a lot of these things over the years.

You don't need straight pride because hetero relationships are universally recognized and accepted
What is you people's obsession with gays. frick it's annoying

It's like people here have zero historical context.

A. Unlike us heteros, gays don't procreate--which, come to think of it, may be the best reason of all to celebrate homosexuality.
B. Unlike us whites, African-Americans didn't:
—Steal this land from its native inhabitants.
—Wipe out entire civilizations in the process of gobbling up the present U.S.
—Enslave white people.
—Bring into the world culinary abominations such as tuna casserole, meatloaf and fruitcake—an offense scarcely less odious than the others, in my opinion.

I have heard the persecution of homosexuals condemned as unjust, bigoted and hateful. But "annyoing"—an adjective deriding the mindless triviality of this obsession—is one of the more incisive objections I've come across in some time. Well spoken.

Just give all ethnicities/races a history month:
Blacks get February
Italians get October (Columbus Day)
Irish get March (St. Paddy's Day)
Hispanics get May (Cinco de Mayo)
Muslims/Middle Easterners get September (9-11)
etc.
etc.

March or April is Confederate month in Shreveport because of Big C. I guess that's the same as white month although there were black confederates.

You would have to be a millionaire to live there.

because of hetero-privilege and white-privilege, every day is a celebration for these groups

Too much to cram into a month.

I don't mean to take anything away from a great post, but
Anybody who has ever applied for a marriage license (straight or gay) had to do that. Granted, the turn around time for the processing of paperwork for straight couples may be shorter.

I'm lobbying the governor's office for a "normal person" month.
