The OP's post reminds me of a comedy I saw long ago, where a kung-fu master does about a minute of all kinds of fancy, intimidating gyrations - then the guy he was about to pummel takes out a 45 magnum and blows him away.
This year, we were the regular season kung-fu master, and when it counted TCU had the 45 Magnum.
Spare the details OP, at LSU, success is measured at the CWS.
That being said, of course we know the players are working hard, and are great kids. But as far as the program goes, it's not where it needs to be. I don't know what it is, but Marshall and Latz aside, the hitting just wasn't what it was in the regular season. Chinea disappeared, so did Hale. We did a poor job of knocking out opponents starters.
I'm not saying PM doesn't deserve respect. He does win, and skips legacy looms large. But everything else about the program is #1 except for Omaha. I'd have traded being the #8 national seed for a CWS win, over the #2 seed and out early.
At any rate, the ice gets thinner with every year past the last title.

Congratulations to the coaching staff and the entire team. I hope it was a fun year and also hope they don't read this disrespectful crap. You people are horrible. A fun year in which I would not have given one chance to go to the cws.
it's not just disrespectful. some LSU fans think that other teams don't have comparable talent. they think that our players are the best in the country. they don't see any weaknesses (probably because they know little about the game).
any loss is on the coach. and once one poster posts a detail they all jump on it and he becomes the worst coach ever. never mind he just won the SEC and Coach of the Year. after all, he "looks" bad in the dugout and can't tell what pitcher to pitch.

He deserves a ton of credit for the regular season. No one doubts that. But he also deserves a ton of criticisms or the post season. And unfortunately, the post season is what you are ultimately judged on.

It is very hard to win a CWS title these days simply because college baseball doesn't get the funding that basketball and football does outside of LSU and the SEC.
So you're saying it should be much easier for LSU?..

I think most of the criticism is this:
LSU is the Rolls-Royce of college baseball programs when it comes to facilities, booster support, fan support, attendance, and we're getting top recruiting classes almost every year.
So that LSU Rolls-Royce is cruising along with the top down all through Oklahoma, Kansas (the reg season). It gets to Nebraska, gets a flat (TCU), it gets fixed (CSF), goes a little further then the engine quits about a mile from Omaha (TCU).
So our Rolls-Royce is parked again on the side of the road, while the Chevys and Buicks of TCU and the others are aiming to win the title.
Again, at LSU the expectations are high. Success is measured in Omaha for the Tigers. When players sign up for the Tigers, and coaches sign contracts, this is a known thing.

LSU hit their way through SEC play winning the overall title with a 21-8 SEC record
Well they also didn't play 2 of the 3 best teams in the country in a three game series so take it with a grain of salt.

I will say they had a GOOD season, but not a great season. I could give a rats arse about all top these rankings and records broken. the only award that matters is a national championship. When a team of this caliber does not at least reach the final series is a failure.

Smoke brought in Paul Bertuccinni. In fact, Smoke brought in almost all of those guys.

Great is used too much and doesn't fit this years team. They were very good, not great. Great would fit if all the accomplishments they achieved CWS.
As far as CPM, he deserves a lot more scrutiny. He falls short in many areas.

The LSU squad features five first-team All-SEC players, and four Tigers have earned All-America recognition. Eight LSU players were selected in the 2015 MLB Draft conducted this week.

Over the past four seasons, LSU has won a nation’s-best 203 games, and the Tigers are the only team in the country to earn a National Seed in each of the last four NCAA Tournaments.
And in the end the candle burns out,now who is the blame for not finishing things?

Yeah let's compare CPM to arguably the best basketball coach in college history. You missed big time on that one
