Check out the Champions area near 1960 and 249, has a northshore feel to it.
This is the area I'm in and everything you will need is within 15 minutes. Check out glen loch farms and the surrounding neighborhoods off of louetta and spring cypress.

I second Kingwood. Me and my wife almost ended up in Houston and this was going to be our bet.

Also KWCC is another reason to move there if you are a golfer. Hell of a deal for anyone under 40.

you want to compare getting out of the "back" of kingwood to getting out of the back of the woodlands or katy?
Actually I probably would. Parents lived in that section. It use to take longer getting out of Kingwood than actually kingwood to downtown.

I disagree if you live in the Kings Point section in the back.
I live in Kings Point and that commuter bus ride is one of the most peaceful and relaxing 40 minutes of my day. I happen to be on the bus at this very moment, using my free time to browse TD. My only regret is not giving up a personal vehicle commute sooner.
It even makes downtown after hours happy hours that much better knowing you do not have to drink responsibly.
Staying downtown to catch an Astros game? It's like catching a 30 mile Uber ride for less than $4.

I've been there for about 10 years. I have heard other people complain about it over the years, but have never seen the basis for these complaints. Maybe these are people that choose to leave when the rush of high school students trying to park at Kingwood High occurs? Getting out of Kingwood has never been a problem for me. But then again, I don't commute during peak commute times. I'm usually out my door by 630am, give or take 15 minutes. This puts me in my office downtown by 715.

My family lives in Cinco Ranch Southwest. I absolutely love it. Every time I visit, I always see purple and gold all over that area.

I'm in clear lake. About 30 min or so from downtown. Nice little city with anything you want. Lots of good restaurants and good schools. Should at least take a look. Friendswood has very good schools also.

I've heard of it so I'm guessing it is. Family and I have only been here for a couple years so I'm still finding places.

Pretty cool floating dive bar, I spent way to much time there in my misspent youth.
